Product Overview

The Buffalo Top S3 HRO CI HI SRC is a flagship offering from the Platinum collection, designed for those who require more than just a standard work boot. Built to withstand the rigours of heavy industry, this brown safety boot combines comprehensive protection with high-level thermal management. Meeting the EN ISO 20345: 2011 S3 standard, it provides a robust barrier between the wearer and the hazards of the modern workplace, ensuring that safety is never compromised for the sake of comfort.

Key Features

  • 200 Joules Resistant Toe-Cap: Provides a critical safety barrier against impact and compression, protecting the forefoot from falling objects and heavy machinery.
  • Puncture Resistant Sole: An integrated layer within the sole prevents sharp objects, such as nails or shards, from penetrating the footbed.
  • Water Resistant Upper: The high-quality upper material is treated to prevent water penetration, keeping your feet dry during outdoor operations.
  • Thermal Insulation (CI & HI): Engineered to protect against the extremes, providing cold insulation down to -17°C and heat insulation up to 150°C.
  • Heat Resistant Outsole (HRO): The sole is capable of resisting temperatures up to 300°C for one minute, making it suitable for hot surfaces.
  • Shock Absorption: Advanced cushioning in the heel region reduces the impact on joints during long shifts on hard surfaces.

Design & Performance

The Buffalo Top is a substantial, sturdy boot that prioritises durability. The construction is focused on longevity, utilizing a water-resistant upper that maintains its integrity even in damp conditions. Inside, the boot is designed to manage the internal climate; the Cold Insulation (CI) and Heat Insulation (HI) ratings mean this footwear performs just as well in a refrigerated warehouse as it does on sun-baked tarmac. The men’s width fitting ensures a secure, ergonomic feel, while the hydrocarbon-resistant sole ensures the boot remains stable even when in contact with oils and chemicals.

Why No Customisation?

We do not offer customisation, such as embroidery or printing, on the Buffalo Top S3 boots. This is a deliberate choice to maintain the safety integrity of the footwear. Piercing the water-resistant upper with embroidery needles would compromise the S3 rating and allow moisture to seep in. Furthermore, the chemicals used in certain heat-transfer processes could interfere with the technical properties of the safety materials. We prefer to deliver the product exactly as the manufacturer intended: fully compliant and completely safe.

Use Cases

These boots are ideally suited for heavy construction, civil engineering, and petrochemical industries. Given their exceptional thermal properties, they are the professional choice for workers transitioning between extreme temperatures or those working on hot-fill asphalt. The SRC slip resistance also makes them a reliable partner for environments where fluids and spills are a daily occurrence.

Practical Advice

As these are substantial boots designed with a men's width, we recommend wearing them with a high-quality technical work sock to ensure the best fit and moisture management. If you are between sizes, consider the thickness of the socks you intend to wear, as the shock-absorbing heel and thermal lining take up a small amount of internal volume.

Caring for your product

To maintain the high-performance standards of the Buffalo Top, regular maintenance is required. Always allow your boots to dry naturally at room temperature. Forcing them to dry next to a radiator or heater can cause the leather to become brittle and crack, which will eventually lead to the failure of the water-resistant barrier.

Remove dirt and debris after every shift using a soft brush or damp cloth. Neglecting this allows grit to work its way into the seams, which acts as an abrasive and shortens the lifespan of the boot. Periodic application of a suitable leather conditioner will keep the upper supple and ensure the puncture-resistant and safety components remain encased in a healthy material structure.
