Product Overview
The Nimbus Hudson horizontal quilted gilet represents a sophisticated approach to technical outerwear, balancing professional aesthetics with modern environmental considerations. This all-season garment is engineered with a focus on refined design, featuring horizontal quilting that ensures even distribution of its recycled insulation. Constructed primarily from recycled polyester, it offers a conscious choice for businesses looking to equip their teams with high-quality apparel that aligns with sustainability goals.
Key Features
- Advanced Insulation: The inclusion of Sorona Aura and Recycled Sugenro padding provides efficient thermal retention while maintaining a lightweight feel, ensuring warmth without the restrictive bulk of traditional body warmers.
- Water-Repellent Finish: Treated with Bionic Finish ECO, the outer fabric effectively repels moisture, protecting the wearer during light showers and damp conditions.
- Eco-Conscious Construction: Utilising recycled fabric derived from plastic bottles and textile waste, this gilet meets stringent Reach and Amfori standards for responsible production.
- Functional Storage: An integrated inside pocket with a secure zipper closure provides a safe location for essential items like smartphones or keys while on site.
- Comfort Details: A knit finish at the collar offers a soft touch against the skin, reducing irritation during extended periods of wear.
Design & Performance
The Hudson gilet is crafted from a lightweight recycled polyester pongee, which provides a smooth, professional appearance that is remarkably durable. The horizontal quilting isn't merely a stylistic choice; it serves the technical purpose of keeping the bio-based padding securely in place, preventing cold spots and ensuring consistent performance. Its lightweight nature makes it an ideal choice for professionals who require freedom of movement while maintaining a core temperature in variable British weather.
Customisation: Print & Embroidery
The smooth surface of the recycled outer fabric makes the Hudson gilet an excellent candidate for both print and embroidery. Embroidery is particularly recommended for a professional corporate appearance, allowing for detailed company logos or individual names to be applied with precision. For larger, high-impact branding, our printing processes ensure vibrant and durable results.
Our Telford-based team has been perfecting garment customisation since 1976. Every item is handled in-house, ensuring that your branding is applied to the highest standard to reflect your business's professional image.
Use Cases
This gilet is versatile enough for a variety of professional environments. It is an ideal layer for site managers and surveyors who move between outdoor locations and office settings. Its refined look also makes it suitable for corporate hospitality, logistics personnel, and transport professionals who require warmth that does not interfere with driving or manual tasks.

Practical Advice
The Hudson gilet is designed with a standard fit, ranging from Small to 4XL. Due to its lightweight insulation, it serves as an excellent mid-layer; consider sizing normally if wearing over a shirt or polo, or sizing up if you intend to wear it over heavier sweatshirts or knitwear. The horizontal quilting maintains a slim profile, making it easy to wear under a larger waterproof coat if the weather turns particularly severe.
Caring for your product
To maintain the technical integrity and water-repellent properties of this gilet, it should be washed at a maximum temperature of 40°C using a normal process. Exceeding this temperature may damage the synthetic fibres and reduce the effectiveness of the insulation.
Avoid the use of bleach, as this will degrade the recycled fabric and may cause discolouration of your custom branding. Similarly, this garment must not be ironed; the heat from an iron can melt the technical outer fabric and compress the internal padding, permanently reducing its warmth.
For best results, do not dry clean or tumble dry. Tumble drying can cause the insulation to clump or the outer shell to shrink. Instead, allow the gilet to air dry naturally to preserve its shape and performance characteristics for the long term.
