Product Overview
The Fruit of the Loom Lightweight Shorts are an essential addition to any active or leisure-based uniform. Designed with a focus on ease of movement and breathability, these shorts are constructed from a refined blend of cotton and polyester. The standout feature is the unbrushed fleece interior, which provides a soft touch against the skin without the excessive heat of a standard heavy-weight garment. Furthermore, the 100% cotton face ensures a superior surface for customisation, making these an ideal choice for businesses looking to maintain a consistent brand image during warmer months or physical activity.
Key Features
- Lightweight unbrushed fleece: Provides exceptional comfort and breathability, making these shorts suitable for indoor work or warmer outdoor environments.
- Elasticated waist with drawcord: Ensures a secure and adjustable fit, allowing for a full range of motion without the garment shifting during movement.
- Integrated side pockets: Offers practical storage for essential items, increasing the utility of the shorts for everyday wear.
- 100% cotton face: Creates a smooth, consistent surface that facilitates high-quality printing and intricate embroidery.
Design & Performance
Engineered for longevity and daily use, these shorts utilise a composition of 80% cotton and 20% polyester. This specific blend combines the natural comfort and absorbent properties of cotton with the structural integrity and crease-resistance of polyester. The result is a garment that holds its shape through repeated wear and industrial laundering. The lightweight nature of the fleece means the shorts do not feel restrictive, making them a preferred option for those in more active roles.
Customisation: Print & Embroidery
At MyWorkwear, we understand that your brand identity is paramount. These shorts are particularly well-suited to both print and embroidery. Embroidery is the preferred choice for those seeking a highly professional and permanent finish for company logos or staff names, offering a three-dimensional texture that conveys authority. For larger, more vibrant designs or event-specific branding, our printing services provide a bold and clear finish. Our expert team, operating from our Telford facility since 1976, ensures every application is executed with precision.
Use Cases
These shorts are versatile enough for a variety of sectors, including the fitness industry, outdoor maintenance teams, and leisure staff. They are also an excellent choice for promotional merchandise or casual staff uniforms in retail and hospitality environments where a formal trouser is not required.

Practical Advice
The sizing for these shorts ranges from Small to 2XL, catering to waist sizes from 32" to 40". For those who prefer a looser fit for high-intensity movement, we suggest considering one size up. These shorts layer exceptionally well with lightweight t-shirts or polo shirts for a complete, professional look.
Caring for your product
To maintain the structural integrity of the fabric and the vibrancy of your custom branding, we recommend a standard machine wash at 40°C. Washing at higher temperatures may lead to fabric shrinkage and can cause the adhesive on printed designs to degrade over time.
Do not use bleach on this garment. Chlorine-based cleaners will strip the pigment from the fabric and can cause significant damage to the threads used in embroidery, leading to a dull and unprofessional appearance.
If tumble drying is necessary, please use a low heat setting. Excessive heat in the drying cycle can affect the elasticity of the waistband and the drawcord, eventually compromising the fit of the shorts.
When ironing, use a cool 'one-dot' setting and ensure you do not iron directly over any printed or embroidered areas. Direct heat can melt print transfers and scorch embroidery threads. Additionally, these shorts should not be dry cleaned, as the chemical solvents used can be too abrasive for the lightweight fleece material.
