Product Overview
The Finden & Hales Kids All-Weather Robe is a technical outer layer engineered to provide superior protection against the elements. Designed specifically for young athletes and outdoor enthusiasts, this garment combines a robust water-resistant outer shell with a substantial sherpa fleece lining. Its generous proportions are intentional, providing a mobile changing space for swimmers or a cocoon of warmth for substitutes waiting on the sidelines. Unlike standard coats, this robe is a specialised garment that prioritises thermal retention and practical utility in harsh British weather.
Key Features
- Water-Resistant Nylon Outer: This durable fabric serves as a reliable barrier against rain and wind, ensuring the wearer remains dry during prolonged outdoor exposure.
- Sherpa Fleece Lining: The high-pile polyester lining traps warm air close to the body, providing essential insulation after cold-water activities or during stationary periods.
- Double-Ended Front Zip: This heavy-duty fastening allows for adjustment from both the top and bottom, facilitating ease of movement and making it simpler to change clothes underneath.
- Internal Embroidery Access: A dedicated zip allows our technicians to apply branding directly to the outer shell without compromising the integrity or appearance of the fleece lining.
- Fleece-Lined Pockets: Zipped external pockets offer secure storage while providing immediate warmth for cold hands.
Design & Performance
Constructed with a 100% nylon outer and a 100% polyester lining, this robe is built for resilience. The medium-weight outer shell is tough enough to withstand the rigours of school sports and club events, while the internal sherpa fleece feels substantial and soft against the skin. The inclusion of a three-piece hood ensures a more ergonomic fit around the head, preventing the wind from lifting it during use. Side vents have been integrated into the hem to improve mobility, ensuring that despite its protective length, the robe does not restrict the wearer's gait.
Customisation: Print & Embroidery
At MyWorkwear, we understand that team identity is paramount. This all-weather robe is perfectly suited for both print and embroidery. Embroidery is the preferred choice for a professional finish, ideal for club crests or school logos on the chest; the internal access zip ensures the back of the embroidery is hidden within the garment layers for comfort. For larger, high-impact branding across the back, such as team names or sponsors, our high-quality printing process provides a bold and clear finish. Every customisation is handled by our expert in-house team in Telford, who have been perfecting garment decoration since 1976.
Use Cases
This garment is an essential equipment choice for junior swim clubs, particularly those involved in open water or 'wild' swimming where immediate warmth is required post-exit. It is equally effective for youth football, rugby, or athletics teams during winter training sessions. Beyond sports, it serves as an excellent protective layer for school trips, festivals, or any outdoor activity where the weather is unpredictable and stationary periods are likely.

Practical Advice
This robe is designed with a 'roomy fit' to allow for changing underneath. We recommend selecting the size that corresponds to the child's height for the best balance of coverage and mobility. For teams, consider a mix of sizes to accommodate growth; the hook and loop wrist fastenings allow for the sleeves to be secured if they are slightly long, ensuring the garment remains functional as the wearer grows.
Caring for your product
To maintain the high-performance water-resistant coating and the loft of the sherpa fleece, we recommend a domestic wash at 30°C. Using higher temperatures can damage the synthetic fibres and reduce the effectiveness of the outer shell.
It is vital that you do not use fabric softeners. Softeners coat the fibres and significantly impair the water-resistant properties of the nylon. Similarly, bleaching agents should be avoided as they will degrade the fabric strength and cause colour fading.
Do not tumble dry, iron, or dry clean this garment. Intense heat from an iron or dryer can melt the synthetic components or cause the fleece to mat. Instead, allow the robe to air dry naturally, which will help it retain its shape and technical performance for many seasons to come.
