Product Overview

The Dennys Short Sleeve Chef's Jacket is a staple of the modern professional kitchen, designed to provide comfort and a sharp aesthetic for culinary professionals. Established as a leader in catering apparel, Dennys has engineered this jacket to meet the rigorous demands of a busy service while maintaining a polished appearance. The short sleeve design is particularly advantageous in high-temperature environments, offering improved ventilation where it is needed most. Featuring a traditional Mandarin collar and a clean stud-fastened front, it offers a look that is both contemporary and respectful of culinary tradition.

Key Features
  • Unisex Styling: Engineered with a versatile cut that provides a professional fit for all members of the kitchen brigade, ensuring team uniformity across the board.
  • Mandarin Collar Stand: A classic design element that provides a smart, upright appearance while ensuring the wearer remains comfortable during long shifts.
  • Stainless Steel Stud Closure: These durable fasteners provide a secure and hygienic alternative to traditional buttons, reducing the risk of components detaching in a food preparation area.
  • Industrial Wash Capability: Specifically designed to withstand the high temperatures of industrial or domestic laundering at 60°C, ensuring the highest standards of hygiene are met without compromising fabric integrity.

Design & Performance

Constructed from a balanced blend of 65% polyester and 35% cotton, this jacket is manufactured using a lightweight fabric that prioritises the wearer's thermal comfort. The polyester content provides the necessary structural resilience to endure the friction and movement of a commercial kitchen, while the cotton ensures a level of breathability essential for those working near ranges and ovens.

The garment is also backed by a suite of international certifications, including OEKO-TEX Standard 100, BSCI, Sedex, and WRAP. These confirm that the jacket has been produced following strict ethical guidelines and is free from substances that could be harmful to the skin, providing peace of mind for both the business owner and the employee.

Customisation: Print & Embroidery

To ensure your kitchen team reflects your brand’s standards, the Dennys Short Sleeve Chef's Jacket is fully compatible with our customisation services. For a professional finish that stands up to the heat of the kitchen, we highly recommend embroidery for your establishment's logo or individual chef names. Embroidery offers a permanent, textured finish that maintains its professional appearance even after repeated industrial laundering.

For larger, more vibrant branding requirements, our Telford-based team also offers precision printing. Whether you choose embroidery for its classic look or print for bold visibility, all customisation is handled in-house by our expert team, drawing on our heritage in workwear since 1976.

Use Cases

This jacket is ideal for head chefs, sous chefs, and catering staff operating in professional kitchens, casual dining establishments, and large-scale catering operations. It is particularly suited for environments where temperature control is a challenge, as the short sleeves and lightweight fabric provide essential relief.

Why MyWorkwear

At MyWorkwear, we have been providing high-quality uniform solutions since 1976. Operating from our technical hub in Telford, we combine decades of expertise with modern production techniques. We understand that in the catering trade, your uniform is not just clothing; it is a critical piece of equipment that must perform under pressure.

Practical Advice

When selecting your size, please consider the unisex nature of the garment; those used to a more tailored feminine fit may wish to consult our sizing guides. For teams operating in varied temperatures, this jacket layers well over lightweight base layers, and for those requiring full arm protection, the long-sleeve AF001 variant is also available.

Caring for your product

To maintain the structural integrity and professional appearance of your Dennys jacket, it is essential to follow the recommended laundry procedures. A 60°C wash is advised to ensure the removal of organic food matter and to maintain the highest levels of hygiene. Neglecting these temperatures can lead to the build-up of bacteria and stubborn stains that are harder to remove over time.

Avoid the use of harsh bleaching agents unless specifically required for sanitation, as this can degrade the polyester fibers and weaken the fabric over time. For the best results, tumble dry on a low setting and iron while slightly damp to ensure a crisp, professional finish for your next service.
