A Brief History Of MyWorkwear
MyWorkwear was originally founded by a gentleman named Mike Worthington. Mike originally saw a gap in the market and started creating embroidered golf bags. This quickly turned into manufacturing clothing and applying embroidered logos and design to them. The idea was to help businesses promote their branding on their new uniform.
As time went on, James Worthington – Mike’s son was brought on board to help grow the business…and the rest, as they say, is history.
James joined MyWorkwear in 2001, as a sales director. Having gained lots of experience in sales in other industries, James then took the responsibility of helping to develop his father’s company into the modern age.
James is now one of our Co-Managing Directors and helped to grow MyWorkwear into one of the UK’s leading suppliers of personalised workwear.
Fact 1 - We Began Supplying Personalised Workwear In 1976!
1976 saw many important moments in history. From the UK having one of its hottest summers on record to David Bowie releasing his 10th studio album, 1976 was a memorable year for many.
Well-known businesses launched and started to make their mark. Microsoft hired their first full-time employee in 1976, Apple Computers launched by Steve Jobs and MyWorkwear started supplying businesses with high-quality embroidered and printed workwear!
Fact 4 - We Printed Over 79,000 Logos On Personalised Workwear In 2024!
That’s right, we printed 79,000 logos in just 12 months.
Since we began in 1976, our investments into evolving our printing services have truly taken us into a modern age.
Nowadays, we utilise DTF Printing here at MyWorkwear. DTF stands for ‘direct to film printing’, where we use a digital printing method to print off a design and then transfer it onto a garment using a heat press. This style of printing ensures an extremely accurate and high quality design is applied to your garment.
Print is bright, vibrant and colourful, which allows for your branding to truly stand out. Additionally, printing also allows your design to be water-repellent. Which makes it a fantastic choice for your outer wear – like personalised jackets or customised hi vis vests.
Have you tried printing your company logo onto your hi vis vest? We love the Yoko Hi-Vis Two Band and Braces Waistcoat.
Additionally, we think printed logos look amazing on personalised hoodies! Check out the Anthem Organic Hoodie for some inspiration.
Fact 6 - MyWorkwear Is Based On The HEART Of Our Values
Everything we do here at MyWorkwear, is built off our core values as a business. Each member of our staff had a say in creating our company values and we knew they were meant to be when they spelt out: HEART.
Our values are not only based on how we operate internally, but also how we help our customers.
The HEART of our values helps us to make sure we not only provide you with incredible personalised workwear, but to make your experience as easy as possible.
