Product Overview

The Uneek Clothing Childrens Active Cotton Poloshirt (UC116) represents a reliable solution for school uniforms, youth clubs, and team activities. Engineered with durability and comfort in mind, this garment provides a smart, professional appearance for younger wearers without sacrificing the flexibility required for active play. The use of 100% ring spun combed cotton ensures a soft hand-feel that is gentle on the skin while remaining robust enough to withstand the rigours of daily wear and repeated laundering.

Key Features
  • Reactive Dyed Fabric: This process ensures that the colour penetrates deep into the fibres, maintaining vibrancy even after frequent washing and reducing the risk of fading.
  • Taped Neck: An internal tape covers the neck seam, providing enhanced comfort and preventing irritation during movement.
  • Twin Needle Stitching: Double-stitched hems provide structural integrity, ensuring the garment does not unravel during high-activity use.
  • Knitted Tipped Collar and Cuffs: These reinforced elements help the polo shirt maintain its shape and professional silhouette over time.
  • Integrated Name Tag: A practical inclusion on the neck label to assist with identification in school or group environments.

Design & Performance

The construction of this poloshirt focuses on the superior properties of ring spun combed cotton. By combing the cotton fibres, shorter and pricklier strands are removed, resulting in a cleaner, smoother fabric surface that is ideal for sensitive skin. This medium-weight fabric offers the perfect balance of breathability and substance, making it suitable for year-round wear.

The inclusion of a two-button placket with self-coloured buttons allows for a tidy, traditional look, while the knitted cuffs ensure the sleeves remain in place. Every element, from the reactive dyeing to the twin-needle stitching, has been chosen to provide a long-lasting garment that maintains its professional appearance throughout the academic year.

Customisation: Print & Embroidery

The smooth surface of the ring spun combed cotton makes the UC116 an excellent canvas for both print and embroidery. For school crests or club badges, our in-house embroidery service provides a high-quality, three-dimensional finish that adds a sense of prestige to the uniform. Embroidery is exceptionally durable, standing up to the same wear and tear as the garment itself.

For larger, more vibrant graphics—such as those required for one-off events or large team logos—our printing services offer a bold and clear finish. All customisation is managed by our expert team in Telford, drawing on MyWorkwear’s heritage since 1976 to ensure your branding is executed with precision.

Use Cases

This poloshirt is specifically designed for children in school environments, providing a smart alternative to t-shirts. It is equally well-suited for sports clubs, dance troupes, and community organisations that require a unified and professional look. Its robust construction also makes it a sensible choice for outdoor activity centres and holiday clubs.

Why MyWorkwear

Established in 1976, MyWorkwear has decades of experience in providing high-quality branded apparel. Based in Telford, our dedicated team oversees the entire customisation process, ensuring that every garment meets our rigorous standards. We understand the importance of durability in children's clothing and only supply products that can meet the demands of a busy lifestyle.

Practical Advice

When selecting sizes for children, we recommend considering the likelihood of growth spurts; choosing a slightly more generous fit can extend the life of the uniform. This medium-weight cotton polo layers effectively under school jumpers or sweatshirts during colder months while remaining breathable enough for summer wear.

Caring for your product

To ensure your garment continues to perform and look its best, it is essential to follow the recommended care protocols. Maintaining the integrity of the fabric and the custom branding requires careful attention to washing temperatures and techniques.

We recommend a domestic wash at 40°C. Washing at this temperature effectively removes everyday dirt and stains without putting undue stress on the cotton fibres or the adhesive used in printed designs. Consistently washing at higher temperatures may lead to premature wear or shrinkage.

Avoid the use of bleach, as this will degrade the reactive dyes and weaken the cotton fibres, leading to colour loss and potential holes. For best results, air dry the garment. If ironing is necessary, iron on the reverse of any printed or embroidered areas to prevent damage to the customisation.
