Product Overview
The Tombo Women's All-Purpose Unlined Shorts are a masterclass in functional simplicity, designed to withstand the rigours of high-intensity training while providing the comfort required for everyday leisure. Constructed from a high-quality polyester microfibre, these shorts offer a refined balance between breathability and structural integrity. The unlined design ensures maximum range of motion and weight reduction, making them an essential garment for active environments where freedom of movement is paramount.
Key Features
- Versatile Storage: Equipped with two side-seam pockets and a dedicated back pocket featuring a key-cord, ensuring your essentials remain secure during movement.
- Tailored Comfort: A flat front waistband provides a sleek profile, while the elasticated back and sides offer a flexible fit that adapts to various body shapes.
- Precision Construction: Twin needle seaming down the centre front panels enhances the garment's durability, preventing seam failure under stress.
- Secure Fit: The integrated drawcord allows for precise adjustment, ensuring the shorts remain stable regardless of the intensity of the activity.
Design & Performance
The choice of 100% polyester microfibre results in a lightweight fabric that is both soft to the touch and exceptionally durable. Microfibre is renowned for its ability to wick moisture away from the skin, a critical feature for any performance garment. By omitting a lining, Tombo has prioritised airflow and reduced the risk of chafing, which is a common issue during repetitive motion tasks.
The engineering of the waistband is particularly noteworthy. By combining a flat front for aesthetic professional appeal with an elasticated rear, the garment maintains a smart appearance without sacrificing the wearer's comfort or restricting deep movement. The inclusion of a key-cord in the back pocket is a practical touch for those who require hands-free utility.
Customisation: Print & Embroidery
Despite their lightweight nature, these microfibre shorts are remarkably well-suited for both print and embroidery. For organisations looking to establish a refined professional appearance, embroidery is the ideal choice for small logos or names on the hem or thigh. Our in-house team uses high-tensile threads that can withstand the frequent washing cycles associated with activewear.
Alternatively, for larger team branding or bold sponsor logos, heat-applied print offers a sharp, vibrant finish that integrates seamlessly with the microfibre surface. Every customisation project is handled by our expert technicians at our Telford facility, drawing on nearly five decades of experience since our founding in 1976.
Use Cases
These shorts are perfectly suited for corporate fitness schemes, sports coaching, or as part of a summer uniform for leisure and hospitality staff. Their clean lines and technical fabric also make them an excellent choice for dance schools or personal trainers who require a uniform that looks professional while performing under pressure.

Practical Advice
The sizing range from Small to Extra Large corresponds to standard UK women's sizes (10 to 16). Given the elasticated nature of the rear waistband, those between sizes may find the smaller option provides a more secure fit for athletic activity, while the larger option is preferable for general leisure wear.
Caring for your product
To maintain the performance and finish of the microfibre fabric, we recommend a machine wash at 40°C on a synthetic cycle. This temperature effectively removes perspiration and dirt without compromising the synthetic fibres. Avoid using fabric softeners, as these can coat the microfibres and reduce the garment's inherent moisture-wicking properties.
Bleaching agents should be avoided at all costs, as they will degrade the polyester structure and cause irreversible colour loss. These shorts should not be tumble dried; instead, hang them to dry naturally out of direct sunlight to prevent UV damage and potential shrinkage.
If ironing is required, use a cool setting (one dot) and iron only on the reverse side. This prevents the microfibre from glazing or melting and protects any custom branding from heat damage. These shorts are not suitable for dry cleaning, as the chemicals used can be too abrasive for the technical fabric.
