Product Overview

The Stormtech Nautilus quilted bodywarmer is a masterclass in thermal layering, engineered specifically for professionals who require warmth without the restrictive bulk of a full jacket. Designed for the unpredictable British weather, this lightweight garment functions as a versatile outer layer or a substantial mid-layer during the colder months. Its construction focuses on maintaining core body temperature while providing a sophisticated silhouette suitable for client-facing environments.

Key Features

  • Durable Water Repellent (DWR) Outer Shell: The advanced coating ensures that light rain and moisture bead off the surface, keeping you dry during brief showers without compromising breathability.
  • Quilted Body with Ultra-Soft Lining: The thin-baffle quilting effectively traps heat close to the torso, while the interior lining provides a comfortable feel even when worn over short-sleeved shirts.
  • Internal Full-Length Stormflap: This protective barrier behind the zip prevents wind from penetrating the garment, ensuring heat retention in exposed environments.
  • Adjustable Hem: The customisable drawcord allows you to seal out drafts and achieve a tailored fit that prevents the garment from riding up during physical tasks.

Design & Performance

Constructed from 100% polyester pongee, the Nautilus bodywarmer is built for resilience. Polyester pongee is a high-performance woven fabric favoured for its durability and smooth finish, which resists snagging and maintains its aesthetic through rigorous daily use. The quilted design is not merely decorative; it serves to stabilise the thermal insulation, preventing cold spots and ensuring consistent warmth across the chest and back. Despite its thermal capabilities, the garment remains remarkably lightweight, reducing wearer fatigue during long shifts.

Customisation: Print & Embroidery

The Stormtech Nautilus is designed with branding in mind, featuring specific access points for embroidery. For companies seeking a formal, professional appearance, embroidery is the recommended choice for chest logos or staff names, as the dense stitching integrates perfectly with the quilted fabric. For those requiring high-impact visibility, such as event staff or promotional teams, our large-format printing options provide bold, crisp results on the smooth polyester surface. All customisation is carried out by our expert in-house team in Telford, drawing on decades of experience to ensure your brand is represented with precision.

Use Cases

This bodywarmer is an ideal choice for site managers, logistics professionals, and outdoor event organisers who transition frequently between indoor and outdoor environments. It is also well-suited for trade professionals who require full range of motion in their arms while keeping their core warm in unheated workshops or during site surveys.

Practical Advice

The Nautilus features a generous size range from S to 5XL. Given its role as a layering piece, we recommend reviewing the sizing guide to determine whether you intend to wear it over a thin polo shirt or a heavier sweatshirt. If you are frequently between sizes, opting for the larger size will allow for more comfortable layering without restricting movement.

Caring for your product

To maintain the performance of the DWR coating and the integrity of the synthetic fibres, we recommend a machine wash on a cold setting. Washing at high temperatures can damage the polyester pongee fabric and may lead to the degradation of any applied print or embroidery.

Tumble drying should only be performed on a low heat setting. This helps to redistribute the internal thermal lining and maintain the garment's loft without risking the structural damage that high heat can cause to synthetic materials.

Do not iron this garment. The heat from a domestic iron can melt the polyester fibres and permanently damage the quilted baffles. If the bodywarmer is hung correctly after washing, the pongee fabric will naturally resist excessive creasing.
