Product Overview
The Stella Alma from Stanley/Stella represents a sophisticated evolution of the classic women's sweatshirt. Designed with a contemporary silhouette, this garment balances ethical manufacturing with premium construction. The use of organic combed ringspun cotton ensures a soft hand-feel that is often absent in standard workwear, providing a professional yet comfortable option for modern business environments that require a polished appearance without sacrificing comfort.
Key Features
- Dropped shoulders and set-in sleeves create a relaxed, modern aesthetic while maintaining a professional silhouette for the workplace.
- 1x1 ribbing at the collar, sleeve cuffs, and bottom hem ensures the sweatshirt retains its shape and elasticity through repeated wear and laundering.
- Two-needle topstitching on all seams provides essential structural reinforcement, preventing the garment from fraying or coming apart under the demands of a busy work day.
- The inclusion of grosgrain back neck tape and a self-fabric half moon at the back neck offers a superior finish and prevents irritation against the skin.
- Fully accredited by the Fair Wear Foundation, GOTS, and Peta, making this an excellent choice for businesses prioritising ethical and sustainable procurement.
Design & Performance
The Stella Alma is constructed from 100% organic combed ringspun cotton, which is significantly more refined than standard cotton. The combing process removes shorter fibres and impurities, resulting in a fabric that is remarkably smooth and durable. This substantial weight fabric provides a structured drape and natural warmth, making it a reliable layer for various working conditions.
The interior features a brushed finish, which not only provides a soft texture against the skin but also helps to trap heat, ensuring the wearer remains comfortable in cooler environments. Despite its sturdy construction, the organic cotton remains breathable, allowing for temperature regulation throughout the day. The adjusted length and dropped shoulder design provide ease of movement, ensuring the garment is as practical as it is stylish.
Customisation: Print & Embroidery
The smooth, high-quality surface of this organic cotton sweatshirt makes it a superior canvas for customisation. Whether you require a subtle corporate logo or a large-scale promotional design, the Stella Alma accommodates both with ease. Our expert team in Telford, who have been providing customisation services since 1976, ensures every detail is handled with precision.
Embroidery is highly recommended for those seeking a professional, high-end finish for company logos or staff names; it offers a durable and three-dimensional appearance that stays sharp wash after wash. For larger, more graphic designs, our printing techniques provide a clean, vibrant finish that integrates perfectly with the fabric's tight-knit structure.
Use Cases
This sweatshirt is an ideal choice for customer-facing teams in the creative, retail, or hospitality sectors who want to project a modern and ethical brand image. It is also well-suited for high-quality event merchandise or as part of a premium corporate uniform. Its sustainable credentials make it particularly appropriate for organisations with strong environmental commitments.

Practical Advice
The Stella Alma features a contemporary fit with dropped shoulders and an adjusted length. We recommend referring to our size guide to select the most appropriate fit for your team, as the silhouette is more relaxed than a standard traditional sweatshirt. For a more tailored appearance, many of our customers choose their standard size, while those seeking a more modern, loose look often opt for a size up.
Caring for your product
To maintain the high quality of the organic cotton and ensure your custom branding remains in peak condition, we recommend a domestic machine wash at 30°C. Washing at this lower temperature prevents unnecessary shrinkage and helps to keep the natural fibres from breaking down.
Bleach should never be used on this garment, as the harsh chemicals will strip the colour and weaken the cotton fibres, leading to premature wear. To maintain the sweatshirt's original shape and prevent warping, it should be air-dried rather than placed in a tumble dryer.
When ironing, use a cool setting of no more than 110°C. It is vital to avoid ironing directly over any printed areas to prevent damage to the customisation. Finally, dry cleaning is not recommended, as the aggressive solvents used can damage both the organic fabric and the integrity of the print or embroidery.
