Product Overview

The Stanley/Stella Astor (STSU261) represents a shift towards more refined, sustainable workwear. This unisex zip-through hoodie is crafted from a unique blend of organic cotton and TENCEL modal, resulting in a garment that offers both exceptional softness and a sophisticated, fluid drape. It is a modern essential designed for those who require their professional attire to reflect both quality and environmental responsibility. Unlike standard hoodies, the Astor provides a more structured silhouette and a premium hand-feel that makes it suitable for both professional and lifestyle environments.

Key Features
  • Two-way metal zip: Offers versatile styling and practical comfort, particularly when seated, allowing the wearer to adjust the fit from the bottom up.
  • Double-layered hood: Constructed from self-fabric for a heavy, high-quality finish that maintains its shape and provides extra warmth.
  • Metal tipping and eyelets: The round drawcords are finished with closed-end metal tips, ensuring they do not fray and adding a refined aesthetic detail.
  • Welt pockets: Discreetly integrated front pockets provide essential storage without disrupting the clean, professional lines of the hoodie.
  • Sustainably sourced: Made with 65% OCS-certified organic cotton and 35% Modal (TENCEL), meeting rigorous environmental and ethical standards including PETA-approved vegan certification.

Design & Performance

Performance in a professional setting is as much about the fabric’s integrity as its appearance. The Astor is a substantial, heavyweight garment that provides warmth and durability. The incorporation of Modal (TENCEL) provides the hoodie with a superior, breathable quality that standard cotton garments often lack. The 1x1 rib at the sleeve cuffs and hem is designed to retain its elasticity, ensuring the garment does not sag after prolonged wear.

Inside, the attention to detail is evident with a herringbone back neck tape and a self-fabric half-moon. These features are not merely for show; they reinforce the areas of highest stress, ensuring the hoodie withstands the demands of a busy working day while remaining comfortable against the skin.

Customisation: Print & Embroidery

The smooth, tight-knit surface of the organic cotton and modal blend makes the Astor an ideal canvas for customisation. For a professional and enduring corporate identity, we recommend embroidery. Our Telford-based team, with expertise dating back to 1976, can render complex logos with precision, ensuring a high-end finish that stays crisp wash after wash.

The fabric is also excellently suited for print. This is the preferred method for larger, more vibrant designs that require high impact, such as event branding or bold back-prints. Regardless of the method chosen, the premium fabric ensures your branding is presented with clarity and professional authority. All customisation is handled in-house in Telford to maintain our strict quality standards.

Use Cases

The Astor is perfectly suited for modern office environments, tech-led start-ups, and customer-facing roles where a standard sweatshirt might feel too casual. Its premium finish also makes it an excellent choice for high-end promotional merchandise, retail uniforms, or event wear where the brand's image is paramount.

Practical Advice

This hoodie features a unisex fit and is available in a comprehensive size range from XXS to 3XL. For a more tailored appearance, we recommend checking the size guide carefully, as the fluid drape of the TENCEL blend offers a different fit compared to 100% cotton garments. The two-way zip is particularly useful for those who spend time driving or seated, as it prevents the fabric from bunching at the waist.

Caring for your product

To maintain the structural integrity and the soft handle of the TENCEL blend, we recommend a machine wash at 30°C. Higher temperatures may stress the organic fibres and lead to premature wear of the fabric or your custom branding.

Do not use bleach, as this will degrade the fabric quality and can lead to discolouration. We advise against tumble drying; instead, allow the garment to air dry naturally to prevent shrinkage and keep the metal zip functioning smoothly.

If ironing is necessary, use a low temperature and avoid direct contact with any printed areas to prevent damage to the design. Do not dry clean, as the chemicals used in the process are unsuitable for this specific sustainable fibre blend.
