Practical Advice
When selecting a size, we recommend referring to the waist measurements rather than age alone, as the elasticated waist is designed for a snug fit. Sizes range from a 22-inch waist for the 5/6-year-olds up to a 32-inch waist for the older range. Please note the drawcord is decorative and cannot be used to tighten the trousers, so choosing the correct size for the child's natural waistline is paramount.
Caring for your product
To maintain the soft nap of the flannel and ensure the tartan colours remain sharp, we recommend a domestic wash at 30°C. Washing at higher temperatures can cause the cotton fibres to shrink and may lead to premature fading of the pattern.
It is important to wash dark colours separately to avoid dye transfer. We strongly advise drying these pants away from direct heat sources and sunlight; excessive heat can make the cotton feel harsh and brittle, while UV rays will dull the vibrant tartan. Do not tumble dry, as the mechanical action and heat can damage the elasticated waistband.
Avoid the use of bleach, as this will chemically damage the natural fibres and ruin the dyed pattern. If you must iron, do so on a low temperature to avoid scorching the flannel surface and to keep the trousers looking their best for longer.
