Product Overview
The CS28 Forehead Protection Balaclava is a well-engineered piece of headwear designed to provide comprehensive coverage throughout the working day. More than a simple thermal layer, this balaclava features a specific peak at the top, which serves the dual purpose of keeping hair securely away from the face while shielding the forehead from adverse weather conditions. Its thoughtful construction ensures that your focus remains on the task at hand rather than managing stray hair or wind chill.
Key Features
- Integrated forehead peak, which ensures hair is kept away from your face and provides a barrier against the weather.
- Extended length design, allowing the garment to be safely tucked into your collar to prevent heat loss and ensure it stays in position during movement.
- Flexible fabric composition, utilizing an elastane blend to provide a snug, non-restrictive fit that accommodates various head shapes.
- Lightweight construction, making it an ideal choice for layering under helmets or other safety headgear without adding unnecessary bulk.
Design & Performance
Engineered from a blend of 92% polyester and 8% elastane, this balaclava is designed for both durability and flexibility. The polyester provides a resilient base that stands up to daily wear in demanding environments, while the elastane ensures the garment retains its shape over time. This lightweight fabric is particularly effective for those who require a breathable layer that doesn't sacrifice coverage. The smooth finish allows other garments to slide over it easily, reducing friction and discomfort during long shifts.
Customisation: Print & Embroidery
While headwear often presents unique challenges for branding, the CS28 can be customised to align with your corporate identity. Embroidery is an excellent choice for smaller logos or staff names, providing a professional and permanent finish. For larger, more vibrant identifiers, our print processes offer a bold alternative. Our in-house team, based in Telford since 1976, utilizes decades of expertise to ensure your branding is applied with precision, maintaining the integrity of the stretchy fabric.
Use Cases
This balaclava is particularly suited for site workers, engineers, and outdoor operatives who face variable weather conditions. It is also an essential piece of equipment for those working in environments where hair containment is a safety or hygiene requirement. Its low-profile design makes it a superior choice for wearing under hard hats or protective helmets on construction sites or in industrial settings.

Practical Advice
To ensure the best performance, ensure the balaclava is pulled taut before tucking the extended neck into your base layer or jacket. This creates a seamless barrier against the wind. Due to the lightweight nature of the fabric, it is highly effective when layered with thermal jackets or waterproof shells for a complete all-weather protection system.
Caring for your product
To maintain the high-stretch performance of this garment, it should be washed at a maximum temperature of 30°C using a mild process. Excessive heat can degrade the elastane fibres, leading to a loss of shape and fit over time.
Bleaching should be avoided entirely, as harsh chemicals will damage the polyester structure and lead to premature wear. Similarly, the item should not be tumble dried or ironed; high heat from these machines can melt or distort the synthetic fibres, compromising the garment's integrity.
We recommend line drying this balaclava in the shade. This protects the colour from UV fading and allows the fabric to dry naturally without the risk of heat damage. Dry cleaning is not recommended, as the solvents used can be too aggressive for this specific fabric blend.
