Product Overview

The S849 Waterproof Bib Apron is a well-engineered garment designed to meet the rigorous demands of the food industry and catering sectors. Engineered with practicality in mind, this apron provides an essential barrier against liquids, ensuring that staff maintain a professional appearance while remaining protected from spills and splashes. Its generous dimensions of 72cm by 95cm offer comprehensive coverage, making it a reliable choice for hygiene-critical environments.

Key Features

  • Adjustable neck tie: This feature allows for a bespoke fit, ensuring the bib sits at the correct height for maximum protection and comfort during long shifts.
  • Anti-tangle ties: Designed to remain neat and secure, these ties prevent the frustration of knots and ensure a tidy profile at the back of the garment.
  • Waterproof construction: The fabric is specifically designed to repel moisture, keeping the wearer dry and preventing stains on underlying clothing.

Design & Performance

Constructed from 100% Kingsmill Polyester, this medium-weight apron is built for durability and repeated use. The fabric choice ensures the garment is resilient against the typical wear and tear of a busy kitchen or production line. Unlike lighter alternatives, the substantial nature of this polyester weave provides a stable surface for customisation while remaining comfortable enough for all-day wear. The navy colourway offers a classic, professional aesthetic that effectively hides minor marks between washes.

Customisation: Print & Embroidery

This apron serves as an excellent platform for showcasing your business identity. For a refined and professional appearance, we recommend embroidery, which is particularly effective for company logos or staff names. The medium-weight polyester fabric supports high-stitch-count embroidery without puckering.

Alternatively, for larger and more vibrant branding, our printing service is a superior choice. This is ideal for bold designs that need to be clearly visible in retail or service environments. All customisation is managed in-house by our expert team in Telford, ensuring that every garment meets the high standards we have maintained since 1976.

Use Cases

This waterproof bib apron is highly versatile and is recommended for use by butchers, bakers, and kitchen staff. It is also an ideal choice for those working in food processing plants or front-of-house roles where liquid management is a priority. Its robust nature makes it equally suitable for bar work or industrial cleaning tasks within the hospitality sector.

Practical Advice

For the best fit, we suggest adjusting the neck strap before tying the apron at the waist. This ensures the bib is properly aligned to protect the chest area. If you are working in high-temperature environments, the polyester fabric is breathable enough to be layered over lightweight chef whites without causing excessive discomfort.

Caring for your product

To ensure the longevity of the waterproof finish and the vibrancy of your branding, we recommend a domestic wash at a maximum temperature of 60°C. This temperature is effective for removing grease and food particles while maintaining the integrity of the polyester fibres.

Bleach must be avoided at all costs. The use of harsh chemical bleaches will weaken the fabric structure and lead to significant colour loss, compromising the professional look of your workwear.

We advise against tumble drying this garment. High-heat mechanical drying can damage the waterproof properties and cause unnecessary shrinkage. For the best results, the apron should be hung to air dry naturally.

If ironing is required to maintain a crisp appearance, use a low setting not exceeding 110°C. Excessive heat from an iron can damage synthetic fibres. For deep cleaning, this garment is also suitable for professional dry cleaning using tetrachloroethene.
