Product Overview
The Steelite Slip On Safety Boot S2 FO SR is a specialized footwear solution designed specifically for environments where hygiene and safety are paramount. Engineered to meet the stringent EN ISO 20345:2022 S2 standard, this boot offers a streamlined, laceless design that minimizes dirt traps, making it an exemplary choice for the food and medical sectors. The combination of a protective steel toecap and a water-resistant microfibre upper ensures that professionals remain protected from both physical impact and liquid penetration throughout their shift.
Key Features
- Integrated Steel Toecap: This provides essential protection against impact and compression, ensuring your feet are shielded from falling objects or heavy equipment in high-risk environments.
- Water-Resistant Microfibre Upper: The high-quality microfibre material prevents water and fluid penetration, keeping your feet dry and maintaining hygiene levels in wet or spill-prone areas.
- Padded Collar: This feature offers enhanced support and cushioning around the ankle, reducing friction and improving comfort during long periods of standing or walking.
- Single Density Mono PU Outsole: This outsole provides excellent resistance to fuel and oil, while the SR slip resistance rating ensures stable footing on slippery surfaces.
- Slip-On Design: The laceless construction allows for quick and easy removal, which is particularly useful in sterile environments where changing footwear frequently is required.
Design & Performance
The design of the FW83 focuses on durability and all-day comfort. The microfibre upper is not only water-resistant but also incredibly resilient, standing up to the rigours of industrial kitchens and medical laboratories. Because microfibre is more breathable than traditional heavy-duty leather, it helps regulate temperature within the boot, reducing moisture build-up.
Underfoot, the mono PU outsole is engineered for longevity. It is a sturdy and well-balanced boot that provides a reliable foundation without feeling excessively heavy. The single-density polyurethane construction offers a balance between flexibility and support, allowing the foot to move naturally while providing the necessary protection against sharp objects and hazardous substances.
Why No Customisation?
At MyWorkwear, we pride ourselves on our customisation expertise; however, we do not offer printing or embroidery on safety footwear. Altering the upper of a safety boot by piercing it with embroidery needles or applying high heat for transfers can compromise the structural integrity of the material and invalidate the safety certifications (such as the S2 rating). To ensure your PPE remains fully compliant with UK safety standards, we provide these boots in their original, un-modified state.
Use Cases
These boots are specifically tailored for professionals in the catering, food processing, and medical industries. They are ideal for bakers, butchers, and kitchen staff who require protection against spills and falling kitchenware. Similarly, laboratory technicians and healthcare workers will find the easy-clean microfibre and slip-resistant soles essential for maintaining a sterile and safe workspace.

Practical Advice
When selecting your size for a slip-on boot, ensure a snug fit around the heel to prevent slippage, while allowing enough room in the toe box for your toes to move freely. We recommend wearing a medium-weight technical work sock to provide additional cushioning and moisture-wicking properties, which will enhance the overall performance of the microfibre lining.
Caring for your product
To maintain the performance and safety characteristics of your Steelite boots, regular cleaning is essential. We recommend wiping the microfibre upper with a damp cloth and mild detergent after every shift to remove contaminants and prevent the build-up of bacteria. This practice ensures the water-resistant properties remain effective for the life of the boot.
Avoid drying your boots near direct heat sources such as radiators or heaters. Excessive heat can cause the microfibre to become brittle and may affect the bond of the PU outsole. Instead, allow them to air dry naturally in a well-ventilated area. Periodically checking the outsole for trapped debris will also help maintain the slip-resistance performance of the SR-rated tread.
