Product Overview

The Steel Nubuck Leather Ankle Boot is a robust and reliable choice for those operating in demanding environments. Engineered with a welted construction, this boot offers a superior level of stability and longevity, ensuring it stands up to the rigours of daily site work. The classic honey-coloured nubuck leather provides a professional appearance without sacrificing the heavy-duty protection required by modern safety standards. With its SBP HRO rating, it is designed to protect the foot from both impact and heat, making it a versatile staple for your workwear wardrobe.

Key Features

  • Full-Grain Nubuck Leather: The high-quality leather upper provides a durable barrier against the elements while maintaining a level of breathability for long-term comfort.

  • SBP Safety Protection: Integrated steel protection in both the toecap and midsole ensures your feet are shielded from falling objects and underfoot punctures.

  • HRO Heat Resistant Outsole: The rubber outsole is specifically designed to resist heat, providing essential protection when working on hot surfaces.

  • Ankle Protection: Enhanced support around the ankle helps to prevent twists and injuries on uneven ground, keeping you steady throughout the day.

  • Integrated Heel Kick: This practical feature allows for the fast and easy removal of the boots at the end of a shift, reducing strain on the back and hands.

Design & Performance

This is a substantial, sturdy boot that prioritises structural integrity. The welted design is a mark of quality, ensuring the sole is firmly attached to the upper for maximum durability in harsh conditions. The rubber outsole is not only heat resistant but also provides reliable traction on various surfaces. Despite its heavy-duty build, the inclusion of ankle support and the choice of full-grain leather mean the boot conforms to the foot over time, offering a personalised fit that doesn't compromise on safety performance.

Why No Customisation?

We do not offer customisation, such as embroidery or heat transfers, on this safety boot. Altering the leather upper can compromise the structural integrity of the material and potentially invalidate the safety certifications (EN ISO 20345). To ensure you remain fully protected and compliant with health and safety regulations, these boots are supplied in their original, tested condition.

Use Cases

While ideally suited for construction and heavy trades, the versatile nature of this boot makes it an excellent choice for a variety of professions. It is particularly well-regarded in the catering and hospitality sectors, including for butchers and bakers, where heat resistance and sturdy foot protection are paramount. Its professional honey finish also makes it suitable for site managers who need to transition between the office and the field.

We understand that reliability is non-negotiable when it comes to safety footwear, which is why we only stock items that meet our rigorous standards for performance and value.

Practical Advice

As these boots are crafted from full-grain nubuck leather, they may require a short break-in period to achieve maximum comfort. We recommend wearing them with a thick pair of work socks during the first few days to allow the leather to soften and mould to your foot shape. If you are between sizes, the substantial nature of this footwear usually allows for a standard fit with room for thermal socks in colder months.

Caring for your product

To maintain the longevity of your safety boots and ensure the leather does not crack or degrade, it is essential to clean them regularly. Use a soft brush to remove dried mud and debris after every shift. Allowing dirt to sit on the nubuck can draw out natural oils, leading to premature wear.

If the boots become wet, allow them to dry naturally in a well-ventilated area. Avoid placing them directly against a heat source, such as a radiator, as rapid drying can cause the leather to become brittle and lose its protective qualities.

Do not use bleach or harsh chemical cleaners on the rubber outsole or the leather upper. These substances can break down the adhesives used in the welted construction and damage the heat-resistant properties of the sole. A damp cloth and specialist nubuck cleaner are all that is required to keep them in peak condition.
