Product Overview
The Ridge Composite Low Shoe S3S ESD SR FO is a technically advanced piece of safety footwear designed for the modern professional. Combining robust protection with the convenience of contemporary engineering, this shoe is built to handle the rigours of busy workplaces while maintaining a professional appearance. The standout feature is its innovative wire lace system, which moves away from traditional lacing to provide a secure, even fit with the simple turn of a dial, allowing for rapid lacing and quick release when the shift ends.
Key Features
- Innovative wire lace system: Provides a precise, adjustable fit and allows for much faster lacing and release than traditional laces, which is quite useful when time is of the essence.
- Composite toe cap: Offers essential protection against impact and compression without the weight of traditional steel, helping to reduce foot fatigue during long hours on your feet.
- Anti-penetration composite midsole: Shields the underside of the foot from sharp objects, ensuring safety on floors where debris may be present.
- ESD properties: Specifically engineered to discharge static electricity, making these shoes suitable for environments with sensitive electronic equipment.
- Slip resistance (SR) and Fuel Oil resistance (FO): The dual-density PU outsole is designed to provide exceptional grip on challenging surfaces and resist degradation from contact with oils.
Design & Performance
The upper is constructed from Action Nubuck, providing a durable and professional finish that stands up to daily wear. Underneath, the PU/PU outsole offers a balance of cushioning and stability. Despite its comprehensive safety features, the shoe remains a substantial yet comfortable option for those who spend their entire day in motion. The inclusion of composite materials instead of metal ensures the shoe is entirely non-metallic, which can be a significant advantage in certain security-conscious environments.
Why No Customisation?
As this is a piece of certified safety footwear, we do not offer customisation or branding options. This policy exists to protect the integrity of the safety standards to which the shoe is built. Applying heat or needles to the Action Nubuck upper could compromise the material's protective properties or void the manufacturer's safety certification, and we take your safety far too seriously to risk that.
Use Cases
These shoes are an ideal choice for professionals working in the catering and hospitality sectors, including those in kitchens, bakeries, or butchery environments where slip resistance is paramount. They are equally suited for technical roles in electronics manufacturing or logistics where ESD protection and all-day comfort are required.

Practical Advice
When selecting your size, please consider that a safety shoe should fit securely without being restrictive. Ensure there is a small amount of space at the front to prevent your toes from making contact with the composite cap during movement. The wire lace system should be tightened until firm but not tight enough to restrict circulation.
Caring for your product
To maintain the performance and safety characteristics of your shoes, regular maintenance is required. Start by ensuring that the Action Nubuck upper is kept clean. Use a soft brush to remove surface dust and dirt after each shift; allowing grime to build up can cause the material to stiffen and eventually crack, which would be a waste of a perfectly good pair of shoes.
The PU/PU outsole should be cleared of any trapped stones or debris to maintain its slip-resistant properties. If the shoes become wet, allow them to dry naturally in a well-ventilated area away from direct heat sources such as radiators, as excessive heat can damage the adhesives and the nubuck material. Finally, avoid using harsh chemical cleaners which may degrade the fuel-oil resistant properties of the sole.
