Product Overview

The PW3 Hi-Vis Class 1 Softshell (3L) is a sophisticated garment engineered for professionals who require a balance of visibility, weather protection, and contemporary styling. This jacket is constructed from a high-performance 3-layer laminated fabric that provides a robust barrier against the elements while maintaining a fresh, modern aesthetic. The inclusion of HiVisTex Pro reflective tape ensures the wearer remains conspicuous in low-light conditions, meeting Class 1 safety requirements without compromising on the garment's sleek profile.

Key Features

  • 3-Layer Breathable Fabric: This technical laminate offers a high degree of water resistance and windproofing, ensuring you remain dry and warm in adverse weather conditions.
  • HiVisTex Pro Reflective Tape: The segmented tape design allows for greater freedom of movement compared to traditional solid tapes while providing exceptional visibility.
  • Micro Fleece Lining: The internal layer is bonded with polyester micro fleece, which provides essential thermal insulation and a soft touch against the skin or base layers.
  • Elastane Integration: The outer shell contains elastane, which provides necessary stretch for active tasks, ensuring the garment moves with you rather than restricting you.
  • Modern Fit: Designed with a contemporary cut, this softshell avoids the bulkiness of traditional safety gear, making it suitable for both site work and professional meetings.

Design & Performance

The PW375 is built around a substantial 3-layer fabric system. The outer shell is a blend of 94% polyester and 6% elastane, providing a durable and flexible exterior. This is laminated to a 100% polyester micro fleece. The result is a substantial weight fabric that feels sturdy and reliable. This lamination process is critical as it creates a windproof membrane that prevents cold air from penetrating the garment while allowing moisture vapour to escape, keeping the wearer comfortable during physical exertion.

The black and orange colourway is particularly effective for those working in environments where full high-visibility yellow or orange might be excessive, yet safety standards must still be upheld. The contrast panels also serve to hide dirt in high-contact areas, extending the professional appearance of the jacket between washes.

Customisation: Print & Embroidery

This softshell jacket is an excellent candidate for both print and embroidery, allowing you to align your team's appearance with your corporate identity. Embroidery is highly recommended for a professional finish on the chest or sleeves; it provides a textured, high-quality look for company logos and staff names that withstands frequent wear.

For larger, more impactful branding on the back of the jacket, our printing services offer a bold and clear solution. All customisation is managed by our expert in-house team in Telford, who have been perfecting workwear branding since 1976. This ensures your logos are applied with precision, maintaining the integrity of the technical softshell fabric.

Use Cases

Given its Class 1 visibility rating, this jacket is ideal for logistics, delivery drivers, and site supervisors who need to be seen but do not require Class 2 or 3 protection. Its stylish design makes it equally at home for surveyors and project managers who transition frequently between the office and the field. It is a versatile choice for any outdoor professional operating in the UK's unpredictable climate.

Practical Advice

This softshell is designed with a contemporary fit. If you intend to wear heavy knitwear or multiple thick layers underneath, you may wish to consider the dimensions carefully to ensure full range of motion. It functions best when worn over a moisture-wicking base layer or a lightweight polo shirt, allowing the breathable membrane to work efficiently.

Caring for your product

To maintain the technical properties of the 3-layer fabric and the integrity of the reflective tape, we recommend a maximum wash temperature of 30°C using a mild process. Washing at higher temperatures can damage the laminated layers and reduce the lifespan of the waterproof finish.

Do not use bleach, as this will degrade the polyester fibres and compromise the high-visibility properties of the fabric. The garment should not be tumble dried; instead, we advise drip line drying in the shade. Excessive heat from a tumble dryer can cause the reflective tape to peel or the fabric to delaminate.

This jacket must not be ironed, as direct heat will melt the synthetic fibres and damage the internal membrane. Dry cleaning should also be avoided to prevent chemical damage. Please note that this garment is rated for a maximum of 50 washes; beyond this point, the reflective properties may no longer meet the certified safety standards.
