Product Overview

The PW3 Hi-Vis Class 1 Extreme Rain Jacket is designed for those who refuse to let the British weather dictate their working day. Part of the contemporary PW3 range, this jacket offers a sophisticated balance between technical performance and modern styling. Constructed from high-specification Portwest Extreme fabric, it provides a formidable barrier against heavy rain while maintaining the breathability required for physical labour in demanding environments.

Key Features

  • 300D Stretch Oxford Fabric: This robust material provides exceptional durability and freedom of movement, ensuring the jacket moves with you rather than restricting your range of motion during site work.
  • Waterproof Underarm Pit Zips: These allow for immediate ventilation during high-intensity tasks, preventing the build-up of moisture inside the garment and keeping you comfortable throughout the shift.
  • Detachable Ergonomic Hood: The hood is shaped to provide maximum protection without compromising peripheral vision and can be removed when not required for a more streamlined appearance.
  • Stain Resistant Finish: A specialised coating helps repel oil and dirt, ensuring the high-visibility orange remains effective and professional-looking even in messy conditions.
  • Secure Storage: Multiple pockets are strategically placed to keep essential tools and personal items safe and dry, no matter how heavy the downpour.

Design & Performance

The core of this jacket is its 300D Stretch Oxford fabric, which features a PU membrane. This combination creates a waterproof shell that feels more substantial and flexible than standard rainwear. The internal mesh lining promotes airflow, preventing the damp sensation often associated with lower-quality waterproof gear. The modern, sporty fit ensures you maintain a professional appearance on-site, while the reinforced construction means it is built to withstand the rigours of a busy working environment without failing at the seams.

Customisation: Print & Embroidery

To ensure your team presents a unified and professional image, this jacket is suitable for both print and embroidery. Embroidery is particularly effective for company logos or staff names on the chest, providing a textured, premium finish that conveys authority and withstands regular wear. For larger, high-impact branding on the back, our high-quality printing processes ensure your design remains sharp and visible. Our experienced in-house team in Telford, which has been perfecting workwear since 1976, manages every stage of the customisation process to ensure a superior finish.

Use Cases

This jacket is ideal for professionals working in civil engineering, logistics, and site management where high-visibility Class 1 protection is required. Its extreme weather rating makes it a primary choice for outdoor workers exposed to prolonged rainfall and wind, where standard waterproofs might fail to provide the necessary protection or comfort required for an eight-hour shift.

Why MyWorkwear

Choosing MyWorkwear means partnering with a company that understands the specific demands of the UK workforce. Since 1976, we have been supplying and customising high-quality garments from our base in Telford. We combine decades of technical expertise with the latest decoration technology to ensure your workwear is as hard-working and reliable as your team.

Practical Advice

As this is a high-performance shell, we recommend layering it over a moisture-wicking base layer or a medium-weight fleece for thermal regulation in colder months. When choosing your size, consider the clothing you intend to wear underneath to ensure a comfortable fit that doesn't restrict your movements or compromise the garment's breathability.

Caring for your product

To maintain the high-performance waterproof membrane and the integrity of the high-visibility finish, we recommend a mild domestic wash at 40°C. Using a harsh cycle or high temperatures may prematurely degrade the technical coatings of the fabric.

Avoid the use of bleach, as this will damage the fluorescent dyes and reduce the garment's visibility, potentially compromising safety standards and site compliance. For the same reason, this jacket should not be dry cleaned.

This garment should be hung to drip dry naturally. Using a tumble dryer or an iron is strictly discouraged, as the concentrated heat can cause the PU membrane to delaminate, effectively destroying its waterproof properties.

Please note that this garment has a maximum limit of 25 washes. Exceeding this may result in the reflective materials and high-visibility fabric falling below the required safety specifications for Class 1 protection, at which point the jacket should be replaced.
