Product Overview

The B310 Nato Sweater has long been a staple for those in public service roles, offering a refined yet functional appearance that withstands the rigours of daily duty. This substantial garment is engineered from a high-quality 7-gauge acrylic, providing necessary warmth without compromising on a professional silhouette. Its design is rooted in traditional service uniform standards, making it an ideal choice for security personnel, logistics teams, or any professional requiring a disciplined look that commands respect.

Key Features

  • Reinforced shoulder and elbow patches made from Kingsmill polycotton provide vital protection against wear and tear in high-friction areas, significantly extending the garment's lifespan.
  • Hook and loop fastening shoulder epaulettes allow for the easy attachment of rank slides or identification, maintaining a formal uniform standard.
  • The dedicated sleeve pen pocket offers a practical storage solution for essential writing tools, ensuring they are always within reach during administrative tasks.
  • The 7-gauge knit construction provides a robust, heavyweight feel that balances insulation with breathability for indoor and outdoor environments.

Design & Performance

The primary construction of 100% acrylic is chosen for its ability to retain shape and colour over prolonged use, resisting the sagging often associated with lighter knits. By utilising a substantial 7-gauge knit, the sweater achieves a density that provides comfort and a clean, sharp fit. The inclusion of Kingsmill polycotton patches—a blend of 65% polyester and 35% cotton—on the elbows and shoulders ensures the sweater can handle the physical demands of an active workday without fraying or thinning at the points of most contact.

Customisation: Print & Embroidery

The Nato Sweater is exceptionally well-suited for both embroidery and print. For a superior professional appearance, embroidery is the preferred choice for company logos or staff names, as the dense knit provides a stable base for high-quality, durable stitching. For larger, more distinctive identification, such as security lettering on the back, our high-definition printing process ensures clarity and longevity. Our experienced in-house team in Telford, who have been perfecting garment customisation since 1976, manages every order to ensure your branding meets our exacting standards.

Use Cases

This sweater is perfectly suited for security professionals, parking enforcement officers, and transport staff who require a formal uniform that offers warmth and durability. Its classic black finish and epaulette features make it appropriate for environments where a clear hierarchy or professional presence is required, from corporate receptions to site monitoring.

We do not just supply clothing; we provide a comprehensive customisation service backed by decades of technical knowledge, ensuring your team looks professional and stays protected in a well-engineered garment.

Practical Advice

The Nato Sweater is designed with a regular fit, allowing it to be comfortably layered over a formal shirt or under a more substantial outer jacket in extreme weather. We recommend checking your chest measurements against our size guide to ensure a fit that is professional yet permits full range of motion during physical tasks. It is also worth noting that the sleeve pen pocket is sized for standard ballpoints; attempting to store a fountain pen there might be optimistic.

Caring for your product

Maintaining your Nato Sweater correctly is essential for ensuring it continues to provide a professional appearance throughout its service life. We recommend a domestic wash at a maximum of 40°C using a mild process. This temperature is sufficient for cleaning while protecting the knit from excessive heat that can cause fibre fatigue and affect your custom branding.

Do not use bleach on this garment. Bleaching agents are far too aggressive for acrylic and polycotton blends, leading to significant colour loss and weakening the structural integrity of the reinforced patches.

Tumble drying should be avoided to prevent shrinkage and the development of static, which can attract lint and dust to the black fabric. Instead, line dry the sweater to allow the fibres to settle naturally and maintain their original dimensions.

If ironing is necessary, do so at a maximum temperature of 150°C. Using a higher heat setting may cause the acrylic fibres to glaze, resulting in an unsightly sheen that compromises the uniform's appearance.

Finally, do not dry clean this sweater. The chemical processes used in dry cleaning are unnecessary for these materials and can strip the fabric of its natural resilience.
