Product Overview
The Lyon Hi-Vis Contrast Work Trousers are a robust and practical choice for professionals requiring both visibility and functional performance. Designed with a modern aesthetic, these trousers combine high-visibility fluorescent orange with navy contrast panels. This strategic use of darker fabric in high-wear areas ensures the garment maintains a clean, professional appearance even in demanding environments. The medium-weight fabric offers a balance of comfort and durability, making them suitable for year-round use in various industrial settings.
Key Features
- Integrated Knee Pad Pockets: These pockets allow for the insertion of internal pads, providing essential protection for your joints when working on hard surfaces.
- Dedicated Mobile Phone and Pen Pocket: Provides secure and accessible storage for essential communication tools and stationery, keeping your hands free.
- Adjustable Hook & Loop Hems: Enables a customisable and secure fit around your boots, preventing the trousers from dragging and reducing trip hazards.
- Kingsmill Polycotton Fabric: The blend of polyester and cotton ensures the trousers are hard-wearing and long-lasting while remaining breathable for the wearer.
Design & Performance
Constructed from Kingsmill Polycotton, these trousers are engineered to withstand the rigours of daily manual labour. The fabric composition of 65% polyester and 35% cotton provides the high tensile strength required for workwear, while the cotton content offers better moisture management and comfort against the skin. The contrast navy panels are not merely for style; they are positioned to hide the inevitable dirt and grease encountered on site, ensuring you look presentable throughout the working day.
The garment's design prioritises movement and utility. The inclusion of specialised pockets ensures that your tools are always within reach, while the medium-weight nature of the material ensures the trousers are substantial enough for protection without being overly restrictive or heavy.
Customisation: Print & Embroidery
The Lyon Hi-Vis Contrast Work Trousers are well-suited for customisation, allowing you to align your safety gear with your corporate identity. Embroidery is an excellent choice for adding company logos or staff names, providing a refined, professional finish that stands up well to repeated laundering. The dense weave of the Kingsmill fabric provides a stable base for high-quality stitching.
For larger branding or safety messaging, print customisation offers a bold and highly visible alternative. All customisation is handled by our expert in-house team in Telford, ensuring that your branding is applied with the precision that MyWorkwear has been known for since 1976.
Use Cases
These trousers are ideal for professionals working in construction, logistics, and engineering where high visibility is a safety requirement. They are particularly beneficial for tradespeople who spend significant time kneeling, such as floor layers or plumbers, thanks to the dedicated knee pad pockets. The smart contrast styling also makes them suitable for site supervisors and managers who require a balance of safety and a polished appearance.

Practical Advice
When selecting your size, consider whether you will be wearing base layers underneath during colder months. Ensure that the knee pad pockets sit at the correct height for your legs to ensure maximum protection when kneeling. The adjustable Hook & Loop hems should be secured firmly over your safety footwear to maintain a tidy profile and prevent the fabric from catching on equipment.
Caring for your product
To maintain the high-visibility performance and longevity of your trousers, we recommend a domestic wash at a maximum temperature of 40°C using a mild process. Washing at higher temperatures can prematurely degrade the fluorescent pigments and the reflective properties of the garment.
Do not use bleach when cleaning this garment. Harsh chemical bleaching agents will break down the fabric fibres and significantly reduce the visibility levels, compromising your safety on site.
These trousers should not be tumble dried; instead, we recommend drip line drying. Excessive heat from a tumble dryer can cause shrinkage and may damage the synthetic components of the polycotton blend. If ironing is necessary, ensure the iron temperature does not exceed 150°C to avoid scorching the fabric.
Please be aware that this garment is rated for a maximum of 50 washes. Beyond this point, the high-visibility properties may fall below the required safety standards, and the garment should be replaced to ensure continued protection. Do not dry clean these trousers, as the chemicals used in the process can strip the technical coatings from the fabric.
