Product Overview

The Leather Rigger 270 Cow Grain Palm Bar Glove is a traditionally styled piece of hand protection designed for those who require substantial durability without sacrificing dexterity. Built to withstand the rigours of heavy-duty manual labour, this glove features a full-grain cow leather palm that offers exceptional resistance against abrasions and punctures. The classic yellow design is complemented by a rubberised safety cuff and integrated vein protection, ensuring that the wearer remains guarded against the typical hazards found on a busy site or farm.

Key Features

  • Full-grain cow leather palm: This high-quality material provides superior abrasion resistance, ensuring the gloves remain intact even when handling rough or sharp materials.
  • Rubberised safety cuff: The stiffened cuff design offers additional protection to the wrist area and allows for the gloves to be removed quickly in the event of an emergency.
  • Vein protection patch: An essential safety feature that provides an extra layer of leather over the vulnerable pulse point of the wrist.
  • Leather patch palm: Reinforces the most high-wear area of the glove, significantly extending the lifespan of the product during intensive tasks.
  • Breathable cotton and polyester backing: These materials ensure that while the palm is heavily protected, the back of the hand remains ventilated to reduce perspiration during extended use.

Design & Performance

In terms of performance, these gloves are engineered for mechanical strength. The full-grain cow leather is a substantial, sturdy material that naturally resists tearing and puncturing far more effectively than synthetic alternatives. Despite its toughness, the leather remains supple enough to allow for a secure grip on tools and machinery. The inclusion of polyester and cotton in the construction provides a balance of flexibility and structure, making these gloves comfortable for all-day wear in demanding environments.

Why No Customisation?

As a critical piece of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), we do not offer customisation on these rigger gloves. Applying heat-press transfers or embroidery could potentially compromise the structural integrity of the leather and the protective backing. Furthermore, any modification to the glove might interfere with its certified safety performance, which is why we provide them exclusively in their original, tested form.

Use Cases

These gloves are ideally suited for professionals working in the agricultural and forestry sectors, where handling timber, fencing, and heavy machinery is a daily requirement. They are equally effective on construction sites for general handling tasks, such as moving scaffolding or masonry, where protection against rough surfaces is paramount. Given their sturdy build, they are a reliable choice for any environment where hand safety cannot be left to chance.

Practical Advice

This particular model is supplied in size Extra Large, which is the industry standard for rigger gloves to allow for easy on-and-off transitions. If you are working in particularly cold outdoor conditions, the generous fit allows for the use of a thin thermal liner glove underneath without overly restricting movement.

Caring for your product

Maintaining the integrity of the leather is vital to ensure these gloves continue to provide the level of protection you require. Leather is a natural material that can become brittle if not cared for correctly.

We recommend that these gloves are not subjected to a traditional domestic wash. Saturating the leather in water can cause it to lose its natural oils, leading to cracking and a significant reduction in abrasion resistance. If the gloves become soiled, allow them to dry naturally away from direct heat sources—such as radiators—which can cause the leather to shrink and harden. Once dry, surface dirt can be brushed off with a stiff bristle brush.

Bleaching or chemical cleaning agents should be avoided at all costs, as they will degrade the fibres of both the leather and the cotton backing, rendering the safety features of the glove ineffective. Proper storage in a cool, dry place will help maintain the suppleness of the grain leather for as long as possible.
