Product Overview

The Impervious Tech Safety Glasses are engineered for professionals who operate in the most demanding environments. These are not standard eye protection; they are designed to withstand extreme conditions where dirt, oil, and debris are constant hazards. The standout feature is the innovative oleophobic and dirt-repellent coating, which ensures your vision remains unobstructed even when exposed to greasy substances or fine dust. This technical treatment means less time spent wiping your lenses and more time focused on the task at hand.

Key Features

  • Oleophobic Lens Coating: This specialised treatment repels oil and dirt, ensuring that fingerprints and greasy residues do not compromise your field of vision during critical work.
  • Removable EVA Foam Gasket: The gasket provides a close seal against the face, offering enhanced protection against dust and shocks while increasing wearer comfort.
  • Wide Elastic Band: Replaces or supplements traditional arms to ensure the spectacles remain securely in place, even during vigorous movement or when working at awkward angles.
  • Dual Material Side Arms: The combination of materials provides a balance between structural rigidity and flexible comfort for long-duration wear.

Design & Performance

Constructed primarily from high-grade polycarbonate, these spectacles offer robust impact resistance without the burden of unnecessary weight. The inclusion of nylon in the frame construction adds a layer of durability and flexibility. In terms of performance, the design is focused on versatility; the ability to remove the EVA foam gasket allows the user to adapt the level of protection based on the specific environmental risks, such as high-dust areas versus standard workshop conditions. They feel lightweight yet substantial enough to provide the security required on a busy site.

Why No Customisation?

We do not offer customisation on the Impervious Tech Safety Glasses as they are critical Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Any modification, such as printing or engraving on the frame or lens, could potentially compromise the structural integrity of the polycarbonate or interfere with the specialized oleophobic coating. Our priority is ensuring that this equipment meets its safety specifications exactly as manufactured to keep you protected.

Use Cases

These spectacles are an excellent choice for a wide variety of trades. They are particularly suited for mechanics and engineers who frequently deal with oils and lubricants, as well as carpenters, tree surgeons, and construction workers who require a dust-tight seal provided by the foam gasket. They are also highly effective for electricians and plumbers working in tight, dusty spaces where eye protection must remain firmly in place.

Why MyWorkwear

MyWorkwear has been a staple of the UK workwear industry since 1976. Operating from our base in Telford, we have spent decades refining our understanding of what tradespeople actually need. We don't just sell products; we provide technical solutions backed by nearly half a century of expertise in protective clothing and equipment.

Practical Advice

For the best fit, we recommend adjusting the wide elastic band so it is snug but not restrictive. If you are working in an environment with high particulate matter, ensure the EVA foam gasket is correctly seated against your face to provide a complete seal. For those wearing other head-mounted PPE, the slim profile of the dual-material arms ensures they fit comfortably under ear defenders or hard hats.

Caring for your product

To maintain the performance and longevity of your safety spectacles, it is vital to treat the technical coatings with care. We recommend cleaning the lenses with a dedicated lens cleaning solution and a soft microfibre cloth. Using abrasive materials or harsh chemicals can strip the oleophobic layer, which will result in reduced visibility and a loss of the dirt-repellent properties.

If the EVA foam gasket becomes soiled, it should be removed and gently wiped clean. Allowing dirt to build up on the foam can cause skin irritation and may degrade the material over time, eventually compromising the seal against your face. Store the glasses in a protective pouch when not in use to prevent accidental scratching of the polycarbonate surface.
