The HV Extreme Ear Defenders represent a high-performance solution for those working in environments where noise levels are consistently hazardous. Part of a new generation of premium ear muffs, these clip-on defenders provide substantial attenuation while maintaining a sleek, professional profile. Designed specifically for integration with safety helmets featuring 30mm side slots, they offer a secure and convenient way to protect your hearing without compromising on other essential safety gear.
Constructed using a robust combination of ABS, Polyoxymethylene, and Nylon, these ear defenders are built to withstand the rigours of daily use in demanding environments. The interior features high-density foam and single-density Mono PU, which provide both comfort and sound insulation. This combination of materials ensures the ear defenders remain effective throughout the working day, reducing fatigue and ensuring user compliance. Despite being a sturdy addition to your safety gear, the materials used are lightweight enough to prevent unnecessary strain on the neck and head during long shifts.
At MyWorkwear, we take safety seriously. These ear defenders are technical Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) specifically engineered for hearing protection. Any physical modification, such as embroidery or printing on the ear cups, could compromise the structural integrity of the plastic or the acoustic properties of the foam. To ensure these defenders meet their safety certification and provide the advertised level of protection, we supply them only in their original, tested state.
These ear defenders are an essential addition to the safety kit of professionals across multiple high-noise sectors. They are particularly suited for construction workers, tree surgeons, and those working in aviation or heavy manufacturing. Whether you are operating machinery in a workshop or working on a busy building site, these defenders provide the necessary barrier against auditory harm and are designed to integrate seamlessly with your existing safety helmet.
MyWorkwear has been a fixture in the British workwear industry since 1976. Operating from our base in Telford, we have spent decades refining our understanding of what tradespeople need to stay safe and comfortable. While we are experts in customisation for garments, our primary concern is always the safety and wellbeing of our customers, which is why we curate only the highest-performing PPE from trusted manufacturers to ensure your protection on the job.
To ensure maximum protection, ensure that the ear defenders are correctly seated over the ears and that no hair or eyewear arms break the seal between the padding and your head. When not in use, store them in a clean, dry area away from direct sunlight, as prolonged exposure to heat and UV can degrade the materials over time. Regularly check the cushions for signs of wear or cracking, as an compromised seal will significantly reduce the effectiveness of the hearing protection.
Maintaining your ear defenders is vital for ensuring they continue to provide the required level of protection and remain hygienic for daily use. We recommend wiping the exterior surfaces and the ear cushions with a damp cloth and a mild soap solution regularly to remove sweat, dust, and debris.
Avoid using harsh chemical solvents or abrasive cleaners, as these can damage the ABS plastic and the internal foam, potentially reducing the effectiveness of the sound attenuation. Ensure the defenders are completely dry before storage or use, as moisture trapped within the foam could lead to degradation and hygiene issues over time.
Do not submerge the entire unit in water, as this can saturate the internal acoustic foam, which may lose its shape and protective properties once dried. Regular inspection of the ear seals is recommended; if they become hard or damaged, they should be replaced to maintain the safety performance of the unit and ensure your hearing remains fully protected.
