Product Overview
The Hi-Vis Mesh Band and Brace Vest is an essential safety garment specifically engineered for professionals working in high-temperature environments. When standard waistcoats become restrictive and uncomfortable in the heat, this vest provides a breathable alternative without compromising on safety or compliance. Utilising our specialised MeshAir fabric, the garment ensures that air can move freely across the body, significantly reducing the risk of heat stress during demanding physical tasks.
Key Features
- MeshAir Fabric Construction: The 100% polyester mesh allows for maximum ventilation, ensuring the wearer remains cool even in the most stifling conditions.
- EN ISO 20471 Compliance: This vest meets stringent high-visibility safety standards, ensuring you remain visible and safe on-site.
- Band and Brace Reflective Tape: The strategic placement of reflective tape provides superior visibility from various angles, which is critical for safety in busy work zones.
- Generous Sizing: Designed with a comfortable fit in mind, this garment can be easily worn over other workwear without restricting movement.
Design & Performance
The primary focus of this vest is thermoregulation. The MeshAir fabric is a lightweight material that offers a high level of breathability compared to standard solid-weave polyester. By replacing solid panels with a durable mesh, the garment facilitates constant airflow. Despite its lightweight nature, the fabric is robust enough to withstand the rigours of a busy construction or industrial environment, providing a reliable and long-lasting solution for summer workwear.
Customisation: Print & Embroidery
Maintaining a professional appearance is vital for any business, and this vest is an excellent canvas for your branding. For a more formal, permanent finish, we recommend embroidery. It is particularly effective for company logos or staff names, providing a textured, high-quality look that stands the test of time.
For larger, more vibrant designs that need to be seen from a distance, print is the ideal choice. Our in-house production team, based in Telford since 1976, uses professional-grade techniques to ensure your branding is applied with precision, maintaining the integrity of the mesh fabric while ensuring your team looks the part.
Use Cases
This vest is the preferred choice for a wide range of professions where visibility and heat management are equally important. It is highly suitable for construction workers, tree surgeons, and electricians who often find themselves working in exposed or poorly ventilated areas. It is also an excellent option for security personnel and mechanics who require high-visibility protection throughout the summer months.

Practical Advice
When selecting your size, consider the layers you typically wear underneath. This vest is designed for a relaxed fit to promote airflow, but if you intend to wear it over a heavy jacket in transitional weather, you may wish to account for that in your choice. The mesh design is particularly effective when worn over moisture-wicking base layers.
Caring for your product
To maintain the high-visibility performance and structural integrity of this vest, proper care is essential. We recommend a domestic wash at a maximum temperature of 40°C using a mild process. Washing at higher temperatures or using aggressive cycles can damage the reflective tape and degrade the polyester mesh.
Do not use bleach, as this will compromise the fluorescent orange pigment and the effectiveness of the reflective bands. This garment should not be tumble dried; instead, it should be line dried to prevent heat damage to the fabric. Do not iron or dry clean the vest, as these processes can melt the synthetic mesh or ruin the reflective properties.
Please note that this garment has a maximum limit of 25 washes. Exceeding this limit can reduce the visibility levels below the safety standards required for EN ISO 20471 compliance.
