Product Overview
The Grip 13 Latex Foam Aqua Glove (AP80) is a sophisticated solution for professionals who require reliable hand protection in damp or fluid-heavy conditions. Engineered with Portwest's innovative Liquid Pro double coating technology, these gloves provide a comprehensive barrier against liquids while maintaining the tactile sensitivity needed for precise manual handling. The design prioritises both safety and comfort, ensuring that moisture remains on the outside while the wearer retains full control over their tools and materials.
Key Features
- Double coating technology: The "Liquid Pro" process involves a primary smooth latex dip followed by a secondary foam dip, ensuring maximum liquid resistance and enhanced durability.
- Latex foam palm: The secondary textured layer provides a superior grip on wet surfaces by creating a suction-like effect, significantly reducing the risk of accidental slips.
- Elasticated wrist: This feature ensures a secure and comfortable fit, preventing the ingress of dust, grit, or fluids during the working day.
- Lightweight construction: Using a nylon and elastic base, the glove remains agile and responsive, reducing hand fatigue during extended periods of use.
Design & Performance
The technical performance of the AP80 is rooted in its layered construction. The foundation is a flexible nylon liner that offers excellent breathability and movement. This is fully encased in a smooth latex coating that acts as the primary moisture barrier. To address the challenge of handling wet or oily objects, a second dip of latex foam is applied to the palm. This creates a porous, high-friction surface that excels where standard gloves often fail. Despite this dual-layered protection, the glove remains a lightweight and flexible piece of equipment that does not hinder the natural movement of the hand.
Why No Customisation?
As this product is a piece of safety-critical Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), we do not offer customisation services. Applying embroidery would puncture the liquid-resistant latex barrier, while heat-applied transfers could damage the integrity of the foam coating. To ensure these gloves perform exactly as intended by the manufacturer, they are supplied in their original, unadulterated state.
Use Cases
These gloves are essential for tradespeople working in plumbing, waste management, and outdoor construction. They are particularly effective for any task involving wet masonry, damp piping, or general handling in inclement weather conditions. Their superior grip also makes them a sensible choice for landscaping and agricultural work where moisture is a constant factor.

Practical Advice
When selecting your gloves, ensure a snug fit to maximise the benefits of the foam palm grip. A glove that is too large will reduce dexterity and may lead to the wearer removing them for fine tasks, which compromises safety. For those working in colder environments, these gloves pair well with a thin thermal liner if sizing permits.
Caring for your product
To maintain the performance of the latex coating and ensure the longevity of the glove, it is important to store them correctly. Keep the gloves in a cool, dry environment when not in use, as prolonged exposure to direct sunlight or extreme heat can cause the latex to become brittle and lose its elasticity.
We recommend cleaning the gloves by wiping them down with a damp cloth to remove any surface contaminants. Avoid using harsh chemical solvents or bleaches, as these can degrade the polymer structure of the double coating, leading to premature wear and a loss of liquid resistance.
Always inspect your gloves before starting a task. If you notice any punctures, tears, or significant wear to the foam palm, the gloves should be replaced immediately to ensure your hands remain fully protected and dry.
