Product Overview

The DX4 Hi-Vis Class 2 Winter Jacket represents a significant advancement in technical outerwear, combining a dynamic, ergonomic design with high-performance materials. Engineered for those who refuse to let the British winter dictate their productivity, this jacket features a sophisticated stretch breathable fabric that facilitates a full range of movement without compromising on weather protection. It is a substantial, insulated garment that ensures the wearer remains visible, warm, and dry in demanding environments.

Key Features

  • HiVisTex Pro Reflective Tape: This heat-applied segmented tape offers superior flexibility and breathability compared to traditional stitched tape, ensuring you remain visible without restricting your movement.
  • Texpel Splash Finish: This water-resistant treatment causes water to bead away from the fabric surface, helping to keep the jacket clean by repelling oil and dirt.
  • Articulated Sleeves: Pre-bent sleeves provide a more natural fit and increased freedom of movement, reducing the effort required during physical tasks.
  • InsulatexPro Padded Insulation: A high-performance lining that offers exceptional warmth-to-weight ratios, keeping you insulated against the cold without adding excessive bulk.
  • Brushed Micro Fleece Collar: Provides additional comfort and traps heat around the neck area, preventing cold draughts from entering the garment.

Design & Performance

The core of this jacket is the Portwest Extreme Waterproof shell, constructed from a 100% polyester stretch fabric with a PU membrane. This combination provides a robust barrier against wind and rain while allowing moisture to escape, preventing the internal build-up of perspiration. The 150D weave ensures the outer layer is resilient enough for daily site use.

Inside, the jacket is lined with a smooth polyester pongee stretch lining, which works in tandem with the articulated design to ensure the garment moves with the body. The InsulatexPro insulation is strategically distributed to maintain core temperature in sub-zero conditions, making it a reliable choice for outdoor professionals throughout the coldest months.

Customisation: Print & Embroidery

For a sophisticated and long-lasting finish, we recommend embroidery for your company logo. This method is particularly effective on the chest area of this jacket, providing a professional appearance that withstands the rigours of outdoor work. The internal construction of the DX4 range is designed to accommodate branding without compromising the garment's performance.

If your branding requires larger, more vibrant displays—such as back-prints for site identification—our high-quality printing services are the ideal solution. All customisation is performed by our expert in-house team at our Telford facility. Having been established since 1976, we have the technical knowledge to ensure your branding is applied precisely and durably to these technical fabrics.

Use Cases

This Class 2 Hi-Vis jacket is designed for professionals working in construction, logistics, and utilities where visibility and thermal protection are paramount. Its modern aesthetic also makes it suitable for supervisors and site managers who require a garment that reflects a high standard of professional equipment.

Practical Advice

Due to the substantial insulation of this winter jacket, you may find that fewer base layers are required than with a standard shell jacket. The articulated fit is designed to be ergonomic; however, if you intend to wear a very thick sweatshirt or fleece underneath, please ensure you check our sizing guides to maintain full mobility.

Caring for your product

To maintain the high-visibility standards and the integrity of the waterproof PU membrane, we recommend a domestic wash at a maximum temperature of 40°C using a mild process. Washing at higher temperatures can damage the heat-applied reflective tape and reduce the lifespan of the stretch fabric.

Bleaching must be avoided at all costs, as the chemicals will degrade the fluorescent pigments and the technical fibres, rendering the hi-vis properties ineffective. Similarly, do not tumble dry this jacket; the intense heat of a dryer can cause the waterproof membrane to delaminate and may damage the reflective elements. We recommend drip line drying for the best results.

Do not iron this garment, as the synthetic materials and PU coating will melt under direct heat. Finally, please be aware that this jacket is rated for a maximum of 25 washes to ensure it continues to meet safety compliance standards; exceeding this may diminish the reflective and fluorescent performance.
