Product Overview

The CS Cut D21 PU Glove represents a significant advancement in hand protection, successfully bridging the gap between high-level cut resistance and the tactile sensitivity required for precision work. While many protective gloves can feel cumbersome, this model utilises a remarkably thin liner to ensure the wearer retains a high degree of dexterity. Despite its lightweight feel, it provides Cut Level D protection, making it a reliable choice for environments where sharp edges and fine motor skills intersect.

Key Features

  • Cut Level D Protection: This provides a high level of resistance against lacerations, ensuring safety when handling sharp materials such as glass or sheet metal.
  • 21-Gauge Liner: The exceptionally fine knit offers a 'second skin' feel, allowing for intricate tasks that would be impossible in thicker safety gloves.
  • Polyurethane (PU) Palm Coating: This coating delivers a secure grip in dry or slightly oily conditions while maintaining the glove's overall flexibility.
  • Reinforced Thumb Crotch: By strengthening this high-wear area, the glove's lifespan is significantly extended, providing better value for money and consistent protection.
  • Touchscreen Compatibility: Integrated technology allows you to operate smartphones and tablets without removing your gloves, maintaining safety and hygiene in the workplace.

Design & Performance

The performance of the CS Cut D21 is rooted in its sophisticated material composition. The liner is constructed from a blend of High-Performance Polyethylene (HPPE), Steel Fibre, Nylon, and Elastane. This combination ensures that the glove is not only resistant to cuts but also breathable and stretchy enough to contour perfectly to the hand. The steel fibre core provides the essential barrier against sharp objects, while the nylon and elastane components ensure the glove returns to its shape after repeated use.

The PU coating is applied specifically to the palm and fingertips. This design choice ensures that the back of the hand remains ventilated, reducing perspiration and discomfort during long shifts. The grey and black colour scheme is also a practical choice, effectively masking dirt and light staining to keep the user looking professional for longer.

Why No Customisation?

As a piece of technical Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), we do not offer customisation on these gloves. The integrity of cut-resistant fibres is paramount; any addition of embroidery would involve piercing the fabric, which could create weak points in the protective barrier. Similarly, heat-applied prints can interfere with the flexibility of the liner and the performance of the PU coating. To ensure your safety is never compromised, we supply these gloves in their original, certified form.

Use Cases

These gloves are specifically engineered for professionals who cannot afford to lose their sense of touch while working in hazardous conditions. They are ideal for carpenters handling finishing work, technicians involved in electronic assembly, and glass handlers. They are also highly effective for general maintenance and light engineering where protection against sharp burrs is required alongside the use of digital interfaces.

Practical Advice

To get the best performance out of your D21 gloves, ensure you select the correct size. A glove that is too large will reduce your dexterity and can become a snagging hazard, while one that is too small will cause hand fatigue and may overstretch the protective fibres. We recommend these for tasks requiring high precision; if you are performing heavy-duty demolition or handling extremely abrasive masonry, you may wish to consider a glove with a thicker coating.

Caring for your product

To maintain the high-performance standards of your cut-resistant gloves, it is important to keep them clean and free from debris that could degrade the fibres over time.

We recommend a gentle machine wash or hand wash in cool water. Using high temperatures can cause the synthetic fibres, particularly the elastane and nylon, to shrink or lose their elasticity, which will negatively impact the fit and safety of the glove.

Do not use bleach or harsh chemical cleaners. These substances can chemically weaken the HPPE and steel fibres, significantly reducing the cut resistance of the material. Always air dry the gloves away from direct heat sources. Tumble drying or placing them on a radiator can cause the PU coating to crack or peel, rendering the grip ineffective.

Never iron these gloves. The high heat of an iron will melt the synthetic materials and the PU coating, destroying the glove and potentially damaging your iron.
