Product Overview
The S899 Chefs Skull Cap is a sophisticated and practical addition to any professional kitchen uniform. Designed specifically for the demands of the food industry, this headwear combines a modern silhouette with the technical reliability of Kingsmill fabric. It serves not just as a hygienic necessity, but as a statement of professionalism for chefs, bakers, and catering staff who require a secure and comfortable fit during long shifts in high-temperature environments.
Key Features
- Plastic snapback adjustment: This allows for a precise, customisable fit that remains secure regardless of head shape or size, ensuring the cap stays in place throughout a busy service.
- Kingsmill fabric technology: The blend of polyester and cotton is engineered to withstand the rigours of a professional kitchen, offering an ideal balance of comfort and durability.
- Texpel Finish: This advanced finish helps to repel liquids and resist stains, keeping the cap looking clean and professional even in the most frantic culinary environments.
Design & Performance
Crafted from a medium-weight polycotton blend, the Chefs Skull Cap is designed for longevity. The Kingsmill fabric is renowned for its colour retention and strength, meaning this cap will maintain its deep black appearance and structural integrity even after repeated laundering. The fabric's breathable nature ensures that moisture is managed effectively, preventing discomfort when the kitchen heat intensifies. The inclusion of the Texpel finish provides an additional layer of protection against the inevitable spills and splashes of a working kitchen.
Customisation: Print & Embroidery
Personalising your catering attire is essential for brand recognition and team cohesion. This skull cap is perfectly suited for both print and embroidery. Embroidery is the preferred choice for a professional appearance, ideal for showcasing restaurant logos or staff names with a textured, high-quality finish. Print is an excellent alternative for larger, more graphic designs that need to stand out with bold clarity.
All customisation is carried out by our expert in-house team at our Telford facility. With nearly five decades of experience since our founding in 1976, we ensure that every stitch and print meets our exacting standards of quality and durability.
Use Cases
This versatile headwear is indispensable across various sectors of the food industry. It is the ideal choice for head chefs and sous chefs in restaurant kitchens, as well as for professionals working in bakeries, butcher shops, and deli counters. Its clean, modern look also makes it suitable for front-of-house staff in casual dining environments where a contemporary catering aesthetic is required.

Practical Advice
Thanks to the plastic snapback adjustment, this cap is a one-size-fits-all solution, making it an easy addition to a bulk uniform order without the need for individual sizing. To ensure maximum comfort, adjust the snapback so the cap sits snugly but does not leave a mark on the forehead. It can be worn comfortably alongside hairnets or under other protective hoods if required by specific hygiene protocols.
Caring for your product
Maintaining the hygiene and appearance of your skull cap is straightforward, provided you follow the technical guidelines to preserve the fabric's specialised finish.
We recommend a machine wash at a maximum temperature of 60°C. Using a normal process at this temperature ensures the effective removal of food oils and bacteria without degrading the polyester-cotton fibres. Avoid using bleach, as harsh chemicals will break down the Texpel finish and cause the black fabric to lose its vibrancy prematurely.
For drying, a low-heat tumble dry setting is appropriate. Excessive heat during the drying process can cause minor shrinkage and may damage the plastic snapback component. When ironing, do not exceed a temperature of 150°C to prevent scorching the synthetic fibres. Professional dry cleaning is also an option for persistent kitchen stains, using tetrachloroethene in a normal process.
