Product Overview

The Bizflame 88/12 FR Shirt is a meticulously engineered garment designed for professionals who require high-level protection without sacrificing the comfort of a standard work shirt. Constructed from a specialised blend of 88% cotton and 12% nylon, this shirt offers a lightweight feel that is ideal for all-day wear in demanding environments. It provides permanent flame resistance and ARC2 protection against electric arc flashes, ensuring that safety is built into the very fibres of the fabric rather than applied as a temporary coating.

Key Features

  • Permanent flame resistance ensures the protective qualities of the garment will not diminish over time or through repeated laundering.
  • ARC2 protection offers a critical layer of safety against the thermal effects of an electric arc flash.
  • The shirt tail is designed with extra length to ensure it remains securely tucked into trousers during vigorous movement.
  • Two flapped chest pockets provide secure storage for essential items while maintaining a clean, professional aesthetic.
  • Adjustable button cuffs allow for a personalised fit around the wrists, ensuring sleeves stay in place or can be secured over gloves.

Design & Performance

The performance of this shirt is rooted in the Bizflame 88/12 fabric technology. By combining a high percentage of cotton with technical nylon fibres, the material achieves a balance of natural breathability and exceptional physical strength. The cotton provides an ultra-soft handle against the skin, which is essential for comfort during long shifts, while the nylon components significantly enhance the shirt's resistance to abrasions and tearing. This lightweight fabric is engineered to meet rigorous international safety standards, making it a reliable choice for high-stakes industrial work.

Customisation: Print & Embroidery

This garment is well-suited for both print and embroidery, allowing you to maintain a high level of brand consistency while adhering to safety requirements. Embroidery is particularly effective for adding company logos or staff names, providing a superior professional appearance that withstands the rigours of industrial cleaning. For larger, more prominent branding, our high-quality print processes offer excellent clarity.

All customisation is managed by our expert in-house team in Telford. Having been established in 1976, MyWorkwear has decades of experience in ensuring that your branding is applied precisely without compromising the protective integrity of technical garments like this Bizflame shirt.

Use Cases

This shirt is specifically designed for workers in the utilities, energy, and petrochemical sectors where protection against heat, flame, and electric arc is a mandatory requirement. Its lightweight nature also makes it an excellent choice for indoor maintenance roles or outdoor work in warmer climates where heavier protective layers might lead to heat stress.

Why MyWorkwear

Choosing MyWorkwear means partnering with a company that has been a staple of the British workwear industry since 1976. Based in Telford, we combine traditional expertise with modern technical knowledge. We understand that workwear is more than just clothing; it is a vital part of your professional identity and your safety equipment, which is why we oversee every step of the customisation process.

Practical Advice

When selecting your size, consider that this shirt is designed with a generous cut to allow for ease of movement. If you typically wear a base layer for additional thermal protection, we recommend choosing your standard size, as the shirt is already proportioned to accommodate movement and layering.

Caring for your product

To maintain the essential flame-resistant properties and the structural integrity of the Bizflame fabric, we recommend a domestic wash at a maximum temperature of 60°C. Washing at this temperature ensures that industrial contaminants are removed while preserving the nylon fibres.

Do not use bleach when laundering this garment. Bleaching agents can cause irreversible damage to the chemical structure of the flame-resistant fibres, potentially compromising the safety performance of the shirt.

For drying, use a low tumble dry setting. Excessive heat in the drying cycle can cause unnecessary shrinkage and may affect the soft handle of the cotton blend. When ironing, a maximum temperature of 150°C should be observed to remove creases without scorching the technical fabric.

This garment should not be dry cleaned. The chemicals used in the dry cleaning process can interact negatively with the flame-resistant treatment and may leave residues that could be flammable.
