Product Overview
The Sky S1P ESD SRC is a sophisticated low shoe from the renowned Record collection, engineered to provide a high level of protection without the bulk often associated with safety footwear. Designed for professionals who require agility alongside safety, these shoes combine advanced material technology with a clean, professional white finish. The technical focus here is on fatigue reduction and electrostatic discharge protection, making them a primary choice for technical environments and precision industries.
Key Features
- SlimCap Toe Cap: This non-magnetic, metal-free toe cap is significantly thinner than traditional versions, providing 200 joules of impact resistance while maintaining a lighter weight and a more streamlined profile.
- SmellStop Lining: An antibacterial and anti-odour lining that prevents the growth of bacteria responsible for smells, ensuring a more hygienic environment for your feet over long shifts.
- Fresh’n Flex Midsole: A puncture-resistant system that offers flexibility and protection, ensuring that sharp objects underfoot do not compromise your safety.
- ESD Protection: Specifically designed to protect electronic devices from electrostatic discharges, these shoes are essential for workers in electronics manufacturing or sensitive laboratory environments.
- Metal Detector Friendly: Being nickel and ferrous-free, these shoes allow for seamless movement through security checkpoints without the need for removal.
Design & Performance
The performance of the Sky S1P is rooted in its patented AirTech and TPU-Skin technology. The outsole is designed to be exceptionally thin, which reduces the weight of the shoe and increases flexibility. Despite this slim profile, the 'cushioning' effect is maintained, providing a significant anti-fatigue benefit that is noticeable when standing or walking for extended periods. The upper material is robust yet breathable, working in tandem with the SmellStop lining to regulate the internal climate of the shoe.
In terms of grip, the SRC rating indicates the highest level of slip resistance, tested on both ceramic surfaces with soap and steel surfaces with glycerol. This ensures stability on varied flooring types, providing confidence in every step.
Why No Customisation?
As a piece of safety footwear, the Sky S1P ESD SRC cannot be customised with embroidery or heat transfers. Altering the upper material would compromise the structural integrity of the shoe and, more importantly, could invalidate its safety certifications. The ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) properties are finely tuned; piercing the fabric or applying external materials could create a path for electricity that bypasses the shoe's protective measures.
Use Cases
These shoes are ideal for professionals working in the electronics industry, pharmaceutical laboratories, or cleanroom environments where ESD protection and hygiene are paramount. The white colourway and sleek profile also make them suitable for medical or food-grade environments where non-safety footwear would be insufficient.

Practical Advice
The Sky S1P is designed with a versatile fit to accommodate both men’s and women’s foot shapes. It is also compatible with orthopaedic made-to-measure footbeds complying with European norms DGUV112-191. When sizing, consider that the SlimCap allows for a more natural fit at the front of the shoe compared to traditional steel caps.
Caring for your product
Maintaining your safety footwear is essential to ensure that the protective features, such as the SRC slip resistance and ESD properties, remain effective over time.
To clean the TPU-Skin and AirTech upper, use a damp cloth and mild soap to remove dirt and debris. Allowing dirt to build up on the outsole can diminish the slip-resistant properties, so ensure the tread is kept clear. Avoid using harsh chemical cleaners or solvents, as these can degrade the synthetic materials and weaken the bond of the outsole.
If the shoes become wet, allow them to dry naturally in a well-ventilated area away from direct heat sources like radiators. Excessive heat can cause the technical materials to become brittle and crack, significantly shortening the lifespan of the product. The SmellStop lining will manage moisture during wear, but regular airing of the footwear is recommended for maximum hygiene.
