Product Overview
The Marathon S3 ESD SRC represents a significant advancement in technical footwear, blending the aesthetics of a modern athletic shoe with the rigorous safety standards required for industrial environments. Part of the renowned Record collection, this low shoe is engineered for those who spend long hours on their feet and require a solution that manages fatigue without compromising on protection. With its sophisticated black and blue design, it offers a professional appearance while housing a suite of safety features, including a puncture-resistant sole and a high-performance water-resistant upper.
Key Features
- Water-Resistant Upper: The upper material is specifically designed to prevent water penetration, ensuring your feet remain dry and comfortable even in damp conditions.
- SlimCap Toe-Cap: Providing 200 joules of resistance, this non-magnetic and thermal-insulating toe cap offers essential impact protection while maintaining a slimmer profile than traditional steel versions.
- ESD Protection: These shoes are designed to protect electronic devices from electrostatic discharges, making them indispensable in sensitive technological environments.
- SmellStop Antiodor Lining: The antibacterial lining helps to eliminate the root causes of odours, keeping the footwear fresh for longer durations.
- Puncture-Resistant Sole: The Fresh’n Flex midsole provides a protective barrier against sharp objects underfoot, reducing the risk of injury on active sites.
- Metal Detector Friendly: Being nickel and ferrous-free, these shoes allow for seamless movement through security checkpoints without triggering alarms.
Design & Performance
The performance of the Marathon shoe is rooted in its innovative sole construction. The Antifatigue AirTech and Tpu-Skin outsole is designed to reduce the thickness of the relatively heavy, rigid part of the sole, replacing it with a more flexible, cushioned layer. This results in a shoe that feels light and responsive, significantly reducing the physical strain on the wearer's legs and lower back throughout the working day.
Inside, the SmellStop lining provides a hygienic environment by preventing bacteria and fungus from colonising the fabric. Combined with the orthopaedic made-to-measure footbed, which complies with European DGUV112-191 norms, the shoe offers a bespoke level of comfort that supports the natural alignment of the foot. The shock absorption in the heel region further enhances the wearer's experience by dampening the impact of every step on hard industrial flooring.
Why No Customisation?
We do not offer customisation, such as embroidery or heat-applied logos, on the Marathon S3 ESD SRC. This is because safety footwear is a precision-engineered piece of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Any alteration to the upper material, such as needle punctures from embroidery, could compromise the S3 water-resistance rating or interfere with the specialized ESD properties of the shoe. To ensure you remain fully protected and compliant with safety regulations, we provide these shoes in their original, tested state.
Use Cases
This footwear is ideally suited for professionals working in electronics manufacturing, automotive assembly, and light engineering where ESD protection is a mandatory requirement. Its metal-detector-friendly design also makes it a practical choice for airport staff and those working in high-security logistics hubs. Additionally, the water-resistant properties and sturdy construction make it appropriate for warehouse managers and tradespeople who transition between indoor and outdoor environments.
Why MyWorkwear
At MyWorkwear, we have been providing the UK workforce with high-quality apparel and safety gear since 1976. Practical Advice
When selecting your size, consider the type of socks you will typically wear, as technical safety footwear performs best with moisture-wicking work socks. This shoe is designed to accommodate both men’s and women’s widths, providing a versatile fit. If you are frequently moving between different zones on a site, the heel shock absorption will provide noticeable benefits in reducing end-of-shift fatigue.
Caring for your product
Maintaining your safety footwear is essential for ensuring it continues to meet its safety certifications and remains comfortable over its lifespan. Regularly removing dirt and debris from the upper with a soft brush or damp cloth will prevent the materials from drying out or cracking.
To preserve the integrity of the AirTech sole and Tpu-Skin, avoid drying the shoes near direct heat sources such as radiators or heaters, as excessive heat can damage the adhesives and technical fabrics. Instead, allow them to air dry naturally in a well-ventilated space. Replacing the footbed periodically can also help maintain the orthopaedic support and hygiene levels provided by the SmellStop lining.
