Product Overview
The Chester S3L FO SR represents a sophisticated approach to safety footwear, balancing heavy-duty protection with ergonomic design. Part of the Smart collection, this low shoe is engineered to meet the rigorous EN ISO 20345:2022 standards, ensuring it provides dependable safety in demanding environments. It features a robust steel toe-cap and a puncture-resistant midsole, wrapped in a design that prioritises foot health and fatigue reduction throughout a long shift.
Key Features
- 200 Joule Steel Toe-Cap: Provides essential protection against heavy impacts and compression, ensuring the structural integrity of the toe area in hazardous conditions.
- Water-Resistant Upper: Developed to prevent water penetration, keeping feet dry and comfortable during outdoor work or in damp environments.
- SmellStop Antiodor Lining: An antibacterial treatment that prevents the growth of bacteria and fungi, maintaining a hygienic environment inside the shoe and reducing unpleasant odours.
- Fresh’n Flex Midsole: A puncture-resistant layer that protects the sole of the foot from sharp objects underfoot while maintaining the flexibility required for natural movement.
- Slip and Hydrocarbon Resistant Outsole: The rubber outsole is specifically designed to provide superior grip on slippery surfaces and remains stable even when in contact with oils and fuels.
Design & Performance
The performance of the Chester S3L is rooted in its Antifatigue AirTech Single Density sole technology. This system is designed to cushion the foot and distribute weight more evenly, which is a significant advantage for those who spend many hours standing on hard surfaces. The substantial construction of the shoe does not come at the expense of comfort; the materials are chosen to allow for breathability while maintaining a sturdy, protective shell.
The inclusion of shock absorption in the heel region further enhances the wearer's experience by reducing the impact forces transmitted through the joints during walking. This attention to detail ensures that the shoe performs as a piece of technical equipment rather than just a standard item of clothing.
Why No Customisation?
As a piece of certified Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), we do not offer customisation on the Chester S3L FO SR. Applying embroidery or heat-applied logos to the upper of a safety shoe can potentially compromise its water-resistant properties and may interfere with the structural certifications required for site safety. By providing these shoes as-is, we ensure they meet the exact technical specifications and safety ratings intended by the manufacturer.
Use Cases
These shoes are ideally suited for professionals working in construction, light industry, warehousing, and manufacturing. The combination of water resistance and hydrocarbon-resistant soles makes them a versatile choice for both indoor and outdoor trades where oil or fuel spills may be a risk.
Why MyWorkwear
MyWorkwear has been a fixture in the industrial clothing landscape since 1976. Operating from our base in Telford, we bring decades of technical expertise to every product we stock. We understand that workwear is not just a uniform, but a tool for the job, and we select our range to ensure our customers receive the most reliable protection available.
Practical Advice
When selecting your size, consider the type of work socks you intend to wear, as a thicker thermal sock may require a slightly more generous fit. For those working in particularly cold conditions, ensuring there is enough room for air circulation around the toes can help maintain warmth.
Caring for your product
Maintaining your safety footwear is essential for ensuring the long-term performance of the protective features and the longevity of the materials.
We recommend cleaning the uppers regularly with a damp cloth to remove dirt and debris. Allowing mud or chemicals to sit on the surface can cause the materials to degrade or crack prematurely, which could eventually lead to water penetration. If the shoes become wet, they should be allowed to dry naturally in a well-ventilated area. Never place them directly against a radiator or heat source, as excessive heat can cause the leather or synthetic components to become brittle and lose their shape.
The SmellStop lining is designed to be self-sustaining, but ensuring the shoes are allowed to air out between shifts will maximise the effectiveness of the antibacterial properties and keep the interior fresh.
