Product Overview

The Be-Dry Mid/Be-Rock S3 safety boot is a technical powerhouse designed for those who work in the most demanding environments. This substantial, sturdy boot is engineered to provide uncompromising protection against moisture, temperature extremes, and physical hazards. It sits within the Special collection from Base, signifying its focus on performance in niche, high-risk sectors where standard footwear simply will not suffice. With a focus on thermal regulation and robust construction, these boots are an essential component of a professional safety kit.

Key Features

  • SlimCap Technology: The 200 joules resistant toe-cap is streamlined and metal-free, offering vital impact protection while reducing the overall profile and weight of the toe area for better mobility.
  • Water Resistant Upper and Membrane: Designed to keep feet completely dry in wet conditions, preventing the discomfort and health risks associated with damp footwear during long shifts.
  • HRO Rubber Outsole: The sole is heat resistant up to 300°C for one minute, providing a critical safety barrier for those working on hot surfaces or near high-heat machinery.
  • Fresh’n Flex Midsole: A puncture-resistant sole plate protects the foot from sharp objects underfoot, such as nails or glass, without sacrificing the flexibility required for natural movement.
  • Thermal Insulation: Offering cold insulation down to -17°C and heat insulation up to 150°C, these boots maintain a stable internal environment regardless of the external weather.
  • Shock Absorption: Advanced cushioning in the heel region reduces the impact on joints when walking on hard industrial surfaces, minimizing fatigue over the course of the day.

Design & Performance

The construction of the Be-Dry Mid utilizes Life Plus Technology combined with an AirTech Double-Density PU and HRO Rubber outsole. This combination ensures that the boot is not only durable but also provides exceptional grip (SRC rated) on both ceramic and steel surfaces. The upper materials are selected for their hydrocarbon resistance, making them ideal for petrochemical environments. While these are substantial boots, the internal design focuses on ergonomics, including a men’s width fit and the capacity for orthopaedic made-to-measure footbeds that comply with European DGUV112-191 norms.

Why No Customisation?

We do not offer customisation, such as embroidery or heat transfers, on this specific item to ensure the integrity of its safety certifications. Adding embroidery would involve puncturing the water-resistant membrane, rendered the boot's S3 WR rating void. Similarly, the technical materials used in the upper are treated to resist chemicals and water, which prevents standard printing methods from adhering correctly without compromising the material's protective properties.

Use Cases

These boots are specifically designed for heavy industry, construction sites, and offshore environments. They are particularly well-suited for workers in the oil and gas sector, rail industry, or any outdoor role involving extreme temperatures and high moisture levels. The metal-free construction also makes them suitable for environments with metal detectors, such as security-sensitive transport hubs.

Why MyWorkwear

Since 1976, MyWorkwear has been at the forefront of the UK workwear industry. Operating from our specialized facility in Telford, we bring decades of technical expertise to every product we stock. We understand that in high-risk professions, the quality of your equipment is not just about comfort—it is about safety and compliance. Our heritage ensures we only provide footwear that meets the rigorous standards our customers demand.

Practical Advice

Given the substantial nature of these boots and the thermal insulation provided, we recommend wearing them with high-quality technical work socks to assist with moisture wicking. Ensure the laces are securely fastened to maximize the ankle support provided by the mid-cut design. If you require orthopaedic adjustments, these boots are designed to accommodate specialist footbeds while maintaining their safety rating.

Caring for your product

To maintain the performance of the water-resistant upper and the integrity of the rubber outsole, regular cleaning is essential. Remove heavy mud and debris with a soft brush after every shift; allowing dirt to dry and cake onto the boot can cause the technical materials to crack over time.

If the boots become wet, they should be allowed to dry naturally in a well-ventilated area. Never place them directly against a heat source like a radiator, as the intense heat can damage the HRO rubber and cause the PU midsole to become brittle, leading to premature failure of the sole unit.

Periodically check the tread for trapped stones or metal shards. Clearing these ensures the SRC slip resistance remains effective, providing you with the necessary grip on hazardous surfaces.
