Product Overview
The Action Shorts are an established favourite within our workwear range, engineered to provide a practical solution for those working in active or demanding environments during warmer weather. Designed with a focus on utility, these shorts combine a substantial fabric build with a functional layout that caters to the modern tradesperson. The inclusion of multiple storage pockets ensures that essential tools and personal items remain close at hand, while the overall construction prioritises longevity and ease of movement throughout the working day.
Key Features
- Multiple Storage Compartments: Extensive pocket space allows for the organised storage of tools and accessories, reducing the need to carry secondary tool belts for smaller tasks.
- Twin-Stitched Seams: Reinforced stitching at the seams provides significant structural integrity, ensuring the garment can withstand the rigours of frequent movement and physical labour.
- Half-Elasticated Waistband: The waistband features elastication at the back, which offers increased freedom of movement and a more forgiving fit when bending or reaching.
- Kingsmill Polycotton Fabric: A high-performance blend that offers the comfort of cotton with the hard-wearing resilience of polyester, making it ideal for daily industrial use.
Design & Performance
Constructed from a medium-weight Kingsmill Polycotton fabric, these shorts are built for consistent performance. The material is fully pre-shrunk, which means you won't be surprised by a change in fit after the first laundry cycle. Furthermore, the fabric boasts superior dye retention, ensuring the black finish remains deep and professional even after repeated exposure to sunlight and washing.
The balance of 65% polyester and 35% cotton provides a surface that is both breathable and resistant to the typical abrasions found on a worksite. The design ensures that while the garment is sturdy, it does not restrict the wearer, making it a reliable choice for long shifts in varying conditions.
Customisation: Print & Embroidery
The Action Shorts are well-suited for both print and embroidery, allowing you to align your team's appearance with your corporate identity. Embroidery is an excellent choice for adding company logos or staff names to the pocket flaps or thigh area, providing a durable and sophisticated professional finish that withstands industrial laundering.
For those requiring larger, more prominent branding, our high-quality printing process is an effective alternative. Regardless of the method chosen, our in-house team at MyWorkwear, based in Telford, brings nearly five decades of expertise to every garment, ensuring your branding is applied with precision and care.
Use Cases
These shorts are primarily designed for professionals in the construction, maintenance, and logistics sectors. They are particularly effective for warehouse staff who require freedom of movement and easy access to scanners or hand tools, as well as outdoor contractors who need a cooler alternative to full-length trousers without sacrificing storage capacity.

Practical Advice
The elasticated back waistband provides a versatile fit, but we recommend selecting your standard waist size for the best results. These shorts pair effectively with our range of medium-weight polo shirts or t-shirts to create a cohesive and functional summer uniform. If you are between sizes, the elastication typically allows for a comfortable fit even during more strenuous activities.
Caring for your product
To maintain the structural integrity and appearance of your shorts, we recommend a domestic wash at a maximum temperature of 60°C. Washing at this temperature ensures the removal of stubborn grime and oils without degrading the polyester and cotton fibres.
Avoid the use of bleach, as this will weaken the twin-stitched seams and cause the fabric to lose its deep black colour. For drying, a low-heat tumble dry or drip line drying is recommended. Excessive heat in the dryer can lead to unnecessary shrinkage, whereas line drying helps the garment retain its original shape.
If ironing is required, use a maximum temperature of 150°C. This prevents scorching the fabric or damaging any applied print or embroidery. For more intensive cleaning, the garment is compatible with professional dry cleaning using standard processes.
