Product Overview
The Larkwood Tartan lounge trousers represent a refined approach to infant loungewear, combining traditional aesthetics with modern comfort. Crafted from a soft, lightweight woven cotton, these trousers are designed to provide a gentle touch against delicate skin while maintaining a classic look that never goes out of style. Whether for quiet afternoons at home or as part of a coordinated festive ensemble, these trousers offer a versatile solution for the youngest members of the family.
Key Features
- Elasticated Waist: Ensures a secure yet comfortable fit that accommodates growth and allows for easy dressing, which is essential for active toddlers.
- Contrast Mock Drawcord: Adds a sophisticated visual detail to the garment, providing the look of traditional loungewear without the hazard of functional long cords.
- Plain Finished Hem: Offers a clean, professional appearance that prevents fraying and ensures the trousers sit neatly against footwear or socks.
- Tag-free Size Pip: Enhances comfort by removing bulky labels that might irritate an infant's skin, while remaining easily identifiable for sizing purposes.
Design & Performance
Constructed from 100% cotton, the fabric is exceptionally breathable and lightweight, making it ideal for indoor environments where temperature regulation is key. The woven tartan pattern is both durable and visually striking, maintaining its depth of colour through regular wear. The design prioritises freedom of movement, ensuring that whether a child is crawling or walking, the trousers do not restrict their natural range of motion. The attention to detail in the stitching and the elasticity of the waistband reflects a commitment to garment longevity and wearer comfort.
Why No Customisation?
We provide these lounge trousers as-is to ensure the utmost comfort and safety for infants. Given the lightweight nature of the 100% cotton fabric and its intended use as soft loungewear, adding heavy embroidery or large prints could compromise the softness of the garment against sensitive skin. By offering these as a non-customised item, we ensure the integrity of the fabric and the intended drape of the tartan weave remain undisturbed.
Use Cases
These trousers are perfectly suited for infant gifting, particularly during the festive season or "cosy season" events. They are an excellent choice for nursery settings where comfort is paramount, or for retail environments looking to stock high-quality, unbranded infant loungewear. Their classic design also makes them ideal for professional photography sessions or family gatherings where a smart-casual appearance is required for the little ones.

Practical Advice
When selecting a size, we recommend referring to the age-based guide while considering the child's height for the most accurate fit. These trousers are designed with a relaxed fit to allow for growth. For cooler environments, they layer exceptionally well over soft cotton bodysuits without adding unnecessary bulk.
Caring for your product
To preserve the soft texture and vibrant tartan pattern of the cotton, we recommend a domestic wash at 30°C. Washing at lower temperatures helps prevent fibre degradation and maintains the garment's shape over time. It is vital to wash dark colours separately to avoid any potential dye transfer onto lighter garments.
After washing, the trousers should be dried away from direct heat or sunlight. High heat from radiators or UV rays can cause the cotton fibres to become brittle and the colours to fade prematurely. We advise against tumble drying for the same reason, as the mechanical action and heat can lead to shrinkage. If ironing is required, use a low temperature setting to smooth out any creases without scorching the natural cotton fibres. Do not use bleach, as this will destroy the fabric's integrity and strip the tartan design.
