Product Overview

The AWDis Just Hoods Sophomore 1/4 zip sweatshirt is a core component for any professional uniform, offering a balanced blend of comfort and utility. Designed with a classic fit, this sweatshirt serves as a versatile layering piece that is as suitable for the office as it is for the field. The fabric features a smooth cotton face, specifically engineered to provide a superior surface for high-quality branding, while the interior is finished with a soft brushed fleece for consistent warmth.

Key Features
  • 1/4 Zip Neck: The quarter-zip design allows for easy temperature regulation and provides a more structured, professional appearance than a standard crew neck.
  • Metal YKK Zipper and Puller: By incorporating industry-leading YKK hardware, this garment ensures smooth operation and long-term reliability, even with frequent daily use.
  • Ribbed Cuffs and Hem: These reinforced sections help the sweatshirt retain its shape over time and ensure a secure fit that blocks out drafts.
  • Brushed Inner Fleece: This interior finish traps heat effectively, making the garment a reliable choice for cooler working environments.
  • Tear-out Label: The simple removal of the brand label allows for easy rebranding, making it ideal for companies wishing to establish a completely bespoke identity.

Design & Performance

Crafted from a blend of 80% ringspun cotton and 20% polyester, this medium-weight sweatshirt is designed to withstand the rigours of a busy working day. The use of ringspun cotton ensures a softer, more durable finish that resists pilling, while the polyester content provides the necessary structural integrity to prevent stretching or losing shape after multiple washes.

The cotton-faced fabric is a technical highlight; it provides a flatter, more consistent surface which is vital for achieving sharp, high-definition customisation results. Whether you are moving between sites or working in a warehouse, the breathable yet insulating properties of this garment ensure you remain comfortable throughout your shift.

Customisation: Print & Embroidery

The Sophomore sweatshirt is an excellent candidate for both print and embroidery, and our expert team in Telford has been managing these processes since 1976. For a traditional and durable professional finish, embroidery is the preferred choice for chest logos or staff names, offering a tactile, premium look that survives the toughest work schedules.

If your requirements include larger designs or promotional graphics, our printing services are ideal. The smooth exterior face of the sweatshirt allows for excellent ink adhesion, ensuring that large-scale prints remain vibrant and crisp. Because we handle all customisation in-house, we maintain total control over the quality and finish of every garment.

Use Cases

This sweatshirt is a popular choice for a variety of sectors, including logistics, education, and light engineering. Its smart-casual silhouette makes it perfect for client-facing staff who need to remain warm without appearing overly casual. Additionally, with SEDEX and WRAP certifications, it is a responsible choice for businesses that prioritise ethical sourcing in their supply chain.

Practical Advice

The Sophomore offers a classic fit with sizes ranging from S (36") up to 2XL (52"). If you intend to wear this as a top layer over a thick shirt or polo, we recommend checking our sizing guide to ensure there is enough room for movement. For those who prefer a more streamlined appearance under a waterproof jacket, your usual size should provide a comfortable, close fit.

Caring for your product

To ensure your sweatshirt remains in peak condition, we recommend a machine wash at 30°C. Washing at this temperature protects the cotton fibres and helps maintain the integrity of any printed or embroidered branding over time.

Avoid the use of bleach, as this will weaken the fabric and cause the colours to fade significantly. When drying, use a low heat setting in the tumble dryer to prevent any potential shrinkage. If ironing is required, use a low setting and avoid direct contact with any custom designs to prevent damage. Finally, do not dry clean this garment, as the chemicals used can compromise the soft finish of the cotton-faced fabric.
