How Do We Customise Your Workwear?
MyWorkwear collaborates with top brands in the workwear industry to deliver high-quality corporate uniforms for your team. After selecting your preferred items and colours, we apply your corporate branding at our Shropshire facility to produce distinctive uniforms tailored for you.
Embroidery
Our premium embroidery service is recommended for cotton and cotton blend fabrics and fleece, and is very hard-wearing.
Embroidered logos look professional and last a long time, making them a sound long-term investment.
Chef’s whites, aprons, T-shirts and hoodies all look great with embroidered logos, which can be washed repeatedly and still look good. It is also a good option for flame-retardant fabrics
To make sure your embroidered logo looks immaculate, we secure the garment with a frame and backing fabric before starting up the embroidery machine. Our stitching machines are computerised and use a digitised version of your logo to make sure the finished product is an exact replica.
On the downside, it can be difficult to embroider fine detail on small logos, and very large areas of embroidery can work out expensive.
Printing
Printed logos are usually a little more affordable than embroidery, especially for large or detailed logos or those with lots of colours.
MyWorkwear’s Direct to Film (DTF) printing technique transfers your logo onto a sheet of vinyl, which is transferred to your garment and heat-sealed on our heat press
Printed logos are vibrant and include all the detail of your logo, and are especially useful for large logos and large bold lettering.
DTF printed logos work very well on polyester and other synthetic materials, and they can be applied to virtually all garments except fleeces.
They are not quite as hardwearing as embroidered logos but with careful washing, printed logos can still be a good long-term investment.
What Materials Are Best For Custom Workwear?
When you’re choosing the best materials for your custom workwear, you need to think about the different job roles in your team.
Your receptionists, for example, will need something very different from their branded uniforms than a construction worker or factory operative.
There is a wide range of fabrics to choose from, and the MyWorkwear team can embroider or print all of them to give you a cohesive and unified look for all of your employees.
Some of the most popular workwear materials are:
Cotton
Natural fabric which is comfortable to wear, breathable and hardwearing. Spun into yarn from the fibres of the cotton plant, cotton is woven or knitted into a soft fabric which is popular for everything from shirts and T-shirts to heavyweight trousers. Its breathability makes it perfect for those who work in hot conditions, but it is slow to dry.Cotton is an excellent choice for both embroidery or print customisation.
Polyester
Derived from oil, polyester is a strong fabric which is durable and resistant to creasing, shrinking and stretching. It is a popular choice for coats and bags, thanks to its water resistant properties. If your team needs protective clothing, tough polyester workwear can be a barrier against chemicals and abrasions. Those who work outdoors will also appreciate cosy polyester fleeces and lightweight showerproof jackets.
Polyester is less breathable than natural fabrics though, so can become hot and uncomfortable to wear.Poly-cotton blends
Polyester-cotton blends offer the best of both fabrics, and are a popular choice for shirts, T-shirts, hoodies and more. They are soft and comfortable but less likely to shrink or crease than 100 per cent cotton.
Nylon
Nylon was the first mass-produced synthetic fabric and is made from plastics. Originally used as a substitute for silk, nylon is very durable and water-resistant, so is a popular choice for lightweight waterproof jackets and trousers. It is perfect for outdoor workers who need protection from the elements.
Denim
Denim is a heavyweight cotton woven fabric, which is very hardwearing. Branded with your logo, denim is ideal corporate workwear for employees who need a level of protection while remaining cool and comfortable.
Canvas
Canvas is also a dense weave durable fabric, which is usually made of natural fabrics like cotton or linen.Canvas is ideal for protective custom workwear as it resists scuffs and abrasions while being easy to print.
Ripstop Fabric
Ripstop is a specialist woven fabric, usually made from nylon, which offers protection against cuts and snags. It is longer lasting than other options, making it a good investment for branded workwear for tradespeople who are often in environments where damage to clothing is likely.
Specialised Fabrics (eg fire-resistant, waterproof)
Where your teams are working in potentially hazardous environments, personal protective equipment (PPE) is a must. Whatever PPE is needed though, there is no reason to compromise on a unified corporate look.Popular fabrics include fire-resistant fabrics, PVC, latex and rubber. MyWorkwear’s experienced team can advise you on the best way to customise each garment with your own logo.
Sustainable Fabrics
Employees are increasingly looking to businesses to make environmentally conscious decisions with procurement.
We offer a wide range of organic, vegan and recycled fabrics which can all be customised in the same way as traditional ranges, helping your team to be smart and comfortable while contributing to your journey towards net zero.
