Product Overview
The B&C ID.001 polo shirt is a versatile staple for any professional uniform, engineered by the B&C Collection to provide a balance of comfort and a sharp appearance. This short-sleeved garment is constructed from 100% pre-shrunk ringspun cotton piqué, ensuring it remains comfortable and consistent in size even after repeated industrial or domestic laundering. Its design is clean and functional, making it an ideal choice for businesses requiring a reliable, uniform look across their workforce.
Key Features
- 1x1 Rib Knitted Collar: The collar is designed to maintain its shape and structure, preventing the 'rolling' often seen in lesser garments after a few washes.
- Reinforced 2-Button Placket: The matching colour buttons and reinforced stitching on the placket ensure durability in a high-stress area of the shirt.
- Neck Tape and Side Seams: Internal neck tape provides additional comfort against the skin, while side seams ensure the shirt maintains a consistent fit and shape over time.
- Broad Size Range: Available from XS to 4XL, allowing for a cohesive look across a diverse team.
Design & Performance
The choice of pre-shrunk ringspun cotton piqué is significant. Ringspun cotton is smoother and stronger than standard cotton, which results in a softer feel for the wearer and a more stable surface for customisation. This medium-weight fabric offers enough substance to feel durable without being overly heavy, making it suitable for year-round indoor and outdoor use. The inclusion of side seams is a mark of quality construction, preventing the garment from twisting or losing its silhouette during active work shifts.
Customisation: Print & Embroidery
This polo shirt is an excellent canvas for both print and embroidery, and choosing between them depends on your specific branding requirements. Embroidery is the preferred choice for a professional and enduring finish; it is particularly well-suited for company logos and staff names on the chest. The piqué weave provides a stable base for high-density stitching, ensuring your brand is represented with precision.
Alternatively, the smooth ringspun cotton fibres make this shirt suitable for print applications, which are ideal for larger designs or promotional messaging that requires high visibility. All customisation is handled by our expert in-house team at our Telford facility, drawing on our expertise established in 1976.
Use Cases
The B&C ID.001 is particularly suited for the hospitality sector, retail environments, and general corporate workwear. Its professional yet approachable aesthetic makes it a firm favourite for customer-facing roles where maintaining a smart identity is paramount. Because of its breathable cotton construction, it is also a practical choice for light trade work and event staff.

Practical Advice
With a size range from XS to 4XL, we recommend consulting our size guide to ensure the correct fit for your team. As a medium-weight garment, this polo layers well under sweatshirts or jackets during colder months without adding unnecessary bulk. The pre-shrunk fabric offers peace of mind regarding size retention, but always consider the environment your staff will be working in when choosing between the standard cotton and the Heather Grey blend.
Caring for your product
To ensure your branded polo shirt continues to perform and look its best, we recommend a standard domestic wash at 40°C. Washing at this temperature effectively removes everyday dirt and oils while protecting the integrity of the cotton fibres and the vibrancy of your custom logo.
Avoid the use of bleach, as this will degrade the cotton fibres and cause significant damage to the colour and any custom print or embroidery. For drying, a tumble dryer may be used, which helps maintain the soft texture of the piqué weave.
When ironing, use a medium heat setting (level 2). We strongly advise ironing the garment inside out, especially around customised areas, to avoid direct heat damage to the print or embroidery threads. Do not dry clean this garment, as the chemical processes involved can be detrimental to the fabric and the adhesives used in some printing methods.
