Product Overview
The Argyll Heavy Fleece is a staple within our All Weather Protection range, designed for those who require dependable warmth without the complexity of modern technical shells. It has earned its place as a perennial favourite due to its traditional, uncomplicated design that focuses on fundamental performance. Constructed from a substantial, heavyweight fleece fabric, this garment is specifically engineered to lock in heat, making it an essential layer for demanding outdoor environments.
Key Features
- Anti-Pill Finish: The high-quality finish ensures the fabric maintains its professional appearance by resisting the formation of bobbles, even after extensive wear and repeated washing.
- Thermal Efficiency: The density of the fabric is designed to trap a significant layer of air, providing superior insulation against the cold.
- Certified Protection: This garment meets the EN 14058 Class 1 standard, confirming its effectiveness in protecting the wearer against the effects of cool environments.
- Durable Construction: Built for the rigours of daily work, the 100% polyester composition offers excellent resilience and shape retention.
Design & Performance
At the heart of the Argyll Heavy Fleece is a commitment to durability and comfort. The heavyweight polyester fabric is soft to the touch but robust enough to withstand the daily stresses of a busy workplace. The anti-pill finish is not merely an aesthetic choice; it extends the lifespan of the garment by preserving the integrity of the fibres. When worn as part of a layering system, it provides a formidable barrier against dropping temperatures, ensuring the wearer remains focused on the task at hand rather than the weather.
Customisation: Print & Embroidery
The dense structure of this fleece makes it a superior candidate for customisation. For a truly professional appearance, we recommend embroidery. Our in-house team uses high-precision machinery to ensure logos and names are rendered with sharp detail and lasting durability. If your branding requires larger, more vibrant graphics, the fabric also accommodates high-quality print processes. Regardless of the method, all customisation is managed at our Telford facility by experts who have been perfecting workwear branding since 1976.
Use Cases
This fleece is ideally suited for tradespeople working in unheated environments, logistics personnel operating in cold storage, or site managers who require a professional yet functional outer layer during site inspections. Its classic Bottle Green colour provides a neutral, authoritative look that fits seamlessly into various corporate identities.

Practical Advice
Given the substantial nature of this fleece, it works best when paired with a moisture-wicking base layer. For those working in particularly wet conditions, it fits comfortably under a waterproof outer shell without restricting movement, thanks to its well-proportioned cut.
Caring for your product
To maintain the thermal properties and the anti-pill finish of your fleece, we recommend a domestic wash at a maximum temperature of 40°C using a mild process. Washing at higher temperatures can damage the polyester fibres and lead to premature wear.
Bleaching agents must be avoided at all costs, as they will degrade the fabric strength and cause significant discolouration. To ensure the garment retains its shape and to protect any custom embroidery or print, do not tumble dry; instead, the fleece should be line dried. The fabric is naturally crease-resistant, and ironing should be avoided to prevent melting or scorching the synthetic fibres. Finally, dry cleaning is not recommended as the chemicals used can interfere with the fabric's soft finish.
