MyWorkwear joins Krazy Races for Charity

Channeling Bob The Builder and hi-vis vests, we raced in our hand-crafted kart down Shrewsbury Quarry for this year’s Krazy Races The event featured twenty-six teams all competing for the coveted Krazy Races trophies.

The Krazy Races

Racers tackled a 300m track with chicanes, obstacles and more, all against the backdrop of the River Severn. The day centred around three knockout-style races, with the ten fastest karts battling it out in the final. Each team chose a theme and built their soapboxes and costumes around it. From a giant block of cheese to a miniature football stadium racing down the track, the creativity was incredible. Each team, dressed to impress in wacky costumes, started their turn with a thirty-second dance to their chosen track. Then not so long after, before they pushed their kart down the Quarry hill, the driver dodged all obstacles.

Racing for Charity.

After supplying the event with branded teamwear and work uniforms, we chose to base our kart off workwear and construction. The soapbox featured workwear-themed emojis and the team dressed in hi-vis vests and hard hats. Jack, the driver, was kitted out in a Bob The Builder costume, somehow managing to see the obstacles through the small eye holes! MyWorkwear spent the time between races fundraising for Race Against Dementia, their chosen charity for 2022.

A bit of Drama!

The race started off on a dramatic note, with MD James falling over whilst pushing the soapbox down the hill! Luckily he was fine, and the soapbox reached the finish line in about 40 seconds. The second race had a slow start but picked up in t when the company director, Ben Simpson, joined in..  Although we didn’t make it into the top ten, we enjoyed working together as a team and raising money for Race Against Dementia.

James Worthington expressed pride in the MyWorkwear soapbox team. He explained, “Even though team MyWorkwear didn’t win, we still had such a great day and will be back again next year for sure!”
